The Time Attack series (cscs.ca) I use to perform in changed their rules for 2014 !!
for the worst. For years they were allowing full aero mods (splitter/underbody/diffuser) with no restriction. Now that diffuser/underbody is illegal as well as the splitter I had before because it goes pass the middle of the front tire. This would put in me in Unlimited !!! Not cool !!! I'm lucky I didn't plan to finish first at the end because I will have no chance against those 500whp++ setup ! Last edited by Megan370z; 03-08-2014 at 10:35 AM. |

I doubt it will really show anything for the relatively slow track where CSCS goes. I'm mostly building the Z for 2015 on the fast track but yeah it should look badass and intimidating !! As for the angle on the diffuser ? - The diffuser box is 51''wide 40'' long at 20deg with the stock suspension the diffuser is set at 3 3/4'' to the ground. - The muffler section has a curved bottom plate that start at about 5deg for like 10inch due to the exhaust then start curving up and - The 2 middle section lower plate is set at 10deg then the side diffuser/winglet are mostly slowly progressive. I don't know how viable all those aero equipment is, the diffuser in theory should add downforce, however they may be overkill. Additionally we don't know how adverse the drag is to performance.

I would agree with you IF I was just making a diffuser alone, yeah it could be overkill and not provide much but drag wize , it would be less than stock.

Do you own research on this. Lookup on those Time Attack forum and especially on the F1 forum that guys modify their street car like ours with those aero improvement. on every occasion where guys were doing their testing with equipment to know the pressure difference with the underbody, the diffuser/flat bottom ALWAYS worked and provided hundreds pounds of downforce. remember just a splitter alone can provide a ton of downforce by just having a very small pressure difference between the bottom and the top.... this is not a guess but calculated. no I wont do any pressure test why ? because I know the drag will much lower than the crap underbody we have, also it will have the added downforce. this wont really give much of an advantage in the slow track but it will on the fast track, fast corner. Its gonna be wide !!
Some more details on the kit Im making for future reference. OEM Base wheel Front = 8'' +43 Rear = 9'' +15 Project being build for the RPF1 10.5 +15 square in mind. Front = 60mm wider each side (120mm total) Rear = 19mm wider each side ( 38mm total and spacer of 20mm) Width Front Outside wheel = 75'' 9/16 (+/- 1/8) Width Rear Outside wheel = 75'' 7/16 (+/- 1/8) I should be able to start making the first part mold of the rear right quarter panel tonight ! (about time !!!!) I cant do anything else which the list is soo freaking long... because I cant remove that damn bumper skin/diffuser until the mold is made !
