I originally had a 2006 Daytona Blue 350Z Enthusiast 6mt. She was a beaut... http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4054/4...c71e77fa_z.jpg http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4082/4...1a2da55c_z.jpg It had a handful of bolt-on mods... Motordyne MREV2 Motordyne 3/16" Plenum Spacer Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 Motordyne Adjustable Sway bars JWT Pop Charger Koni Yellow Adjustable Sport Struts RS*R Ti2000 Springs All good things come to an end I guess. I made the mistake of driving it to work one day in February 2010, with a winter storm in the forecast to hit during the drive home. I was hit by an eighteen wheeler on I-44 in STL after spinning a full 360 and facing it head on (hydro-planed while merging onto the highway during rush hour traffic) :( And she was gone... http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5091/5...763d3dcb_z.jpg I miraculously walked away with only a few bumps and bruises. Needless to say, I was pretty scared and timid to jump back into a Z. So I went out and bought a 2011 Evo X. It was a fun car, but it wasn't for me. http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6234/6...595b5a6f_z.jpg Fast forward 7 months (to this past November '11) and I've got the urge to get back on the horse. I find myself a beautiful Magnetic Black 2010 370Z 6mt w/ Sport package and only 2k miles. I couldn't resist... So I drove 6 hours down to Memphis the day before Thanksgiving to pick her up... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7156/6...fcb25fbb_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7011/6...c25a9f0e_z.jpg And finally home! http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7016/6...bdc959ef_z.jpg There's a lot more in store for this Z! Stay tuned - and thanks for checking out my journal  -Scott |
Can't go wrong with black! Nice car
|
Well put together!!! Keep it up!!
|
Nice work! How was that EVO compared to the Z since you have fully owned both?
BTW those Missouri tags look ugly as hell lol. |

GreatOne - I was afraid the 25's might be too much for the rear, but after the Swifts were installed and I got an alignment, they sit perfect. Couldn't be happier  |

But I closed my eyes and pressed "order" and like you, couldn't be happier...I would have wanted more if I did 20 in back |
Got my Evo-R lip in. The quality is superb, however there is a chip in one of the corners from shipping. Oh well, I dropped it off today on my lunch break to get repaired and painted magnetic black.
pics (sorry, from my phone)... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7087/6...a506c084_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7053/6...bd6216ac_z.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7277/6...110b5062_z.jpg |

Thanks man, it was actually a last minute thing. I noticed the fog outside and it wasn't raining so I jetted out the door w/ the camera.
|
Pics came out nice!
|
Thanks Lake!
|
So, I've got this painted Evo-R lip here... what do you guys think, should I put it on? After taking/seeing that last set of pics, I'm really hesitant to mess w/ the aesthetics of the car at this point. I'm really diggin' stock body right now. Ugh, decisions......

its hard to say really...a few shots from further back at different angles would be nice. I gotta get out and take more of mine as well...what are your impressions of it? I like it, but also like the way your car looks without it too, so clean. I can see why you're having a tough time deciding. goodluck, either way im sure your car will still be sick!
|
^^^ ageed. the lip looks good and so does the stock look, can always put the lip on and then take it off when your ready to change up the look again
|
trimmed the stock aero piece today in hopes of cleaning up the front a bit. i think it turned out ok... sorry for the quality of the pic!

Lip looks great bolt that thing on!

I actually like what you did with the stock aero deflector. Flows better with the body shape now. How did you trim it?

I think i might order those springs this week, I keep looking at the pics of your car on that foggy day and it just sets off the car ! Did you instal them yourself? (thinking about attempting that diy)...I want those spacers as well, did you get the 'bolt on' ones? phaddi_inc |
Thanks Phaddi. I will try and get some better pictures of the front today. I did not install the springs myself - I had our local club-sponsored dealership do the install for me. I did do the spacers myself. They are the 20/25mm bolt on spacers from Z1...
CNC Aluminum Hub Centric Wheel Spacers 2.5, 5, 10, 15, & 20mm CNC Aluminum Bolt-On Wheel Spacers (25mm) |
A few misc pre-ZDayZ mods...
I finally got around to installing my Z1 post maf tubes. I had to trim about 1/4" off both sides to get them to fit. And that was with the strut bar removed and airboxes out... http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5454/7...57eb6413_b.jpg I also installed my Evo-R lip. I'm actually really happy w/ it now that it's on the car... http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8161/7...c23d37d8_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8163/7...fc3e1186_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7078/7...9bd2d072_b.jpg Almost forgot, fitted sunshade... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7232/7...f13137af_b.jpg |

Damn that front spoiler looks really good! Nice and clean so far.
|
^^^agree, the front lip looks really clean.
how far are you driving, Im assuming you dont want rock chips on those headlights? Do you have a clear bra installed on the bumper/hood? |
Quote:
We drove 500+ miles (~9 hours) today. I don't have a clear bra on the car, and I don't apply product to my headlights (reason why I wrapped them). If you're familiar w/ Zaino products - I did a coat of Z5 and Z2 w/ 3 coats of Z6 in between yesterday. I sprayed her down w/ water after we arrived today, and the bug guts and road debris fell off immediately. The Zaino system basically creates a clearcoat on the finish. :happydance: We'll see how long it holds up. Still 3 more days of the Dragon :excited: |
hmmm sounds like I should consider doing something similar ...i'll be driving about 800miles round trip this weekend. I dont have Zaino, but I have the Adams machine super wax, maybe a few coats of that tonight/tomorrow morning and tape up my lights too  .
small amount of work to keep her looking mint is always worth it. phaddi_inc |
After hitting the Dragon this morning. Can't tell really, but the car is so dirty...
