Who built that car? I don't really see anything "wide" about it. Those are stock brakes with upgraded rotors and lines and the Amuse rear bumper with some type of aftermarket lip.

KUSH 03-05-2012 06:09 PM

Stillen front lip to be exact :)

XwChriswX 03-06-2012 05:06 PM

Nothing really 'custom' about the body. And nothing that would warrant a special 'RS' badging, unless you just wanna feel different... :ugh2:

Toyo Proxes R888s

Has F.I full straight pipe exhaust and long tube headers.

Getting nismo shock and springs set up from a forum member here (should be plenty of suspension, plus future sway bars and body braces.

Wheels will be ordered at the end of the month, either Volk G12 20x10 front and 20x12 rear, or the tokyo edition te37 19x10.5 19x12.

Currently have Toyo Proxes R888s already on the car if you cant see in the pics, plan on sticking with these with new wheel set up, or pilot sport cup tires if they fit.

Plan on gettng pulleys and final drive gearing, I think this will make the car the fastest, eliminate headaches of goin FI, and honestly I have yet to see TT or supercharged system that is truely "fast" compared to other production cars, Z was just not built for them and I dont think can truely deliver the hp. Possible go with the HR head conversion and do total Nismo race engine if anything.

Stillen lip was just added to get SOMETHING on the car for this show, honestly for $200 its A LOT nicer than I ever thought it was from pictures.

The plan though with the front is to get cf mines lip molded into bumper, and also integrate the 2012 GTR's led running lights into the bumper.

Stay tuned :tiphat:

*work in progress*

phelan 03-07-2012 10:13 AM

i wouldn't do running lights, on the Z they just look tacky, but your call.

Speedy 03-07-2012 10:40 AM

I like most of this car. Simple, effective. Not sure it's a special edition, but nice mods just the same.

I'm more of a keep it simple kind of guy when it comes to exterior mods. I like the front lip and the rear diffuser. However, I think the rear wing is a bit too tall for the body style.

Personally, I think the Nismo wing is about right for this car. Can those be added to a sport model without having to do a lot of body filler on holes and what not?

Reaper42 03-07-2012 10:45 AM

No you need to drill new holes, this wing isnt only cms taller and wider than actual nismo, not that big of a difference. Direct shot from the back it looks perfect, some side angles it looks eh, but overall I like it.

The running lights I will be doing arent the aftermarket cheapo nissan ones, I will actually be buying replacement 2012 GTR lights and molding them into pretty much the same spots that they are on the 2012 GTR.

Anyone want to photoshop this for me? :)

Isamu 03-07-2012 02:55 PM

good choice on wheels.. and I totally missed the FI exhaust...

provide some pics and I can try an chop it for you

We were told the EVOR High Wing does not need holes drilled when installing on the Sport package Z. That it uses existing holes. Can you elaborate?

Reaper42 03-30-2012 07:43 PM

I meant you need to drill holes for the OEM nismo wing. This evo R wing you do NOT need to drill holes when installing on sports package Z.

Although there is a bit of body work needed to be done to the wing to make it look smooth, also the 3M adhesive that evo R provides to attach the middle piece to the top wing piece doesnt really hold at all, you need some body glue to keep it in place.

Also, to anyone that is going to have this installed, as them to do the BEST job they can of sealing this onto your car. This wing drips water out REALLY bad. Every time I was the car or it gets wait, the wing retains and drips out for for days. You need to constantly wipe down your rear bumper to keep it clean. I am sure later in the summer I wont have a probably since the heat will evaporate the water fairly quickly, but as of now it has been a major pain in the ***.

When I go in to install mines lip and fenders I am goin to have this addressed, I'll keep you guys posted.

Reaper42 12-23-2012 10:50 PM

Nice looking Z, like what you've done so far

How are you finding the Alcantra on the steering wheel?

I figure in normal driving my hands are normally at 12 or 6 (when being super lazy) but when doing Time Attack I'll be more at 9 and 3 and wondering about wear.

Isamu 12-30-2012 09:20 PM

I have not have any trouble yet, when I am racing I use gloves. and normal driving I usually grab the carbon fiber sections of steering wheel.

:tiphat: Fenders would look nice, just make sure they aren't crap when you get them. Especially if you get fiber glass. Your body shop will take twice as long to rebuild and enforce the fender to get it to fit correctly and not crack. Man hours = Money out of your pocket.

I had a bad experience, so I am cynical in the fender department. Short story they need to be hacked up and re-glassed to get the mounting points were they need to be. Driver side mold is off by a 1/2 inch making all the gaps look stupid. You can guess who the supplier is, and they aren't interested in customer service or replacing there F'ed up product.

Reaper42 01-03-2013 04:01 PM

Ouch, sorry about your experience. Im fairly confident in my body shop, they have done all the work to my car so far and everything has come out looking better than oem. This shop also gets BMW M race cars shipped to them from california to be worked on there. The shop is also were BulletproofAutomotive sends there biggest project cars.

They are modifying my stock fenders, so their wont be that much fiberglass to them. I stop in there for meetings once a week to go over the fine details and every step by step of the process to make sure we are both on the same page.

Hopefully I will have some pics next weekend of the fenders being worked on, as well as the stop tech trophy brakes on the car.

Dont forget guys I have my Akebono BBK for sale in the private classifieds section for real cheap!

Stoptech Trophy brake kit came in. These things are MONSTERS. The cast look is also sweet. Hopefully will have these swapped on wednesday.

Finally picked up tires for the new rims 275 in front, 315 rear, R888

Decided to get rims custom painted, thought silver finish on PF01s looks too much like stock rims.

Hood was sold, my guy is going to try and use my stock Al hood and replicate the Japan Super GT hoods.

Fenders should be started tomorrow.

Still trying to figure out a game plan for rear wing, want APR wing but hate how it is mounted to hatch, want to try and get either custom mount, or try and acuire the brackets from the sunline racing wing.

Sold my fast intentions exhaust. Amuse R1 y-pipe and Amuse R1 race exhaust (single exit) coming soon

Updated pics to come later this week!

Have a bunch of sweet parts for sale in the classifieds section if some of you dont check those regularly, so hurry up over there and check my postings out, great prices!
