The guys at Wheelflip did an amazing job!

Default My trip to "The R's Tuning" & "Speed Ventures Buttonwillow Raceway Park" 3-10-12

This past weekend, I finally had the opportunity to do some modifications to the Z that I had wanted to do for a long time. It all started Friday morning 3-09-12 when I went to "The R's Tuning" in Irvine, Ca. I made an appointment to see the infamous Ricky Kwan, and master tuner Leo Chen. I placed an order the week before to install a Recaro Pole Position Seat I bought from one of my buddies in my car club. I was so excited to see the brackets that Leo custom made for the Z. I only planned getting the Driver Side installed, and without asking Leo made a second bracket for my passenger side.. I was taken back by just how cleanly they were welded and painted.

They installed:

* Eibach Sway Bars
* Whiteline Endlinks
* SPC front camber arms
* SPC rear camber arms with locks

I also had an alignment and corner balance:

*Front: Left 937; Right 899
*Rear: Left 773; Right 715
Total weight without W&T; 3324 lbs
Cross weight: 50.2%
Total weight: 3464lbs

Alignment:

Front: Left -3.1, Right -3.1
Toe: 0
Rear: -2.1, Right -2.1
Toe in 3/16

Recaro Pole Position Seat
Recaro Aluminum Side Mount
Custom Bottom Mount

Some photos from the installation and my trip to Buttonwillow this past weekend.

Thank you very much R's Tuning!!

I'm running Recaro Profi with the same mounts as you. I did also have Recaro sliders with brackets. Do you seats sit higher than stock? I had to remove my sliders and mount seats in a fixed postion to get where I wanted it.

What major weight savings have you done also?

Hey Chris! My seats were sitting higher than stocks as well, I ended up taking out the slider and mounting my bucket in a fixed position as well. I heard those Recaro Profi's are very comfortable! It's too bad we both can't run the sliders.

I've never liked the Volk G2's on any car...you changed my mind.

I love this thing!

I'm thinking of trying out the AD08's next time around. I hear great things about them.

Thanks man! I originally ordered Advan Racing RS-D's in a Matte Black. I'm happy that I ended up going with the Type 2's They are now discontinued, which means they will be a rare wheel to find. I'm happy I was able to get them in time.

Chris-AD08's are amazing tires. They have the most linear tread-wear of any tire I have used. The grip is amazing once the tires have been warmed up, and if tire pressure is kept on track-days correctly; they wear evenly. I really enjoy how hard the sidewalls of the tires are, they can take insane impact and pressure from the berms.

haha thanks sim! I really need to re-paint her again, so many scratches and chips.

I'm thinking about color matching my aero, what do you guys think?
