...final test run of the in car camera mount for my IPHONE with Track Addict HD software loaded as an app. The telemetry overlay is upside down, but I can fix that by changing the orientation of the camera in the mount. Not thrilled with the video quality yet but still tweaking stuff. This should be better than nothing for when I go to Summit this coming weekend.

...finally got around to making holes in the rear hatch area plastics so I can adjust the coilovers without removing it...missed a little on my best guess for the first hole...

http://www.the370z.com/members/sixpa...co1-custom.jpg

...used a Dremel and rounded out the hole better, and then superglued a plastic 2 3/8" desk grommet. Didn't come out too bad.

...went to my first ever MAZOC (Mid Atlantic Z Owners Club) meet on Saturday. Was worth the drive. Got to meet several other forum post whores regulars and see some other Z's. Makes a big difference seeing the cars in person as opposed to looking at the pictures.

I got to meet ZCarMan and his wife, Zole and his Dad, MightyBobo, Blades, Masa, Shado and a latecomer in a 350Z that his name escapes me.

Just damper ...

SPOHN 05-02-2012 06:22 PM

Sometimes I forget what the rear looks like with all the stock equipment

sixpax 05-02-2012 06:27 PM

LOL ... I bet ! Someday mine will look pretty barren and race car like. I think I am hoping I can do the HPDE thing for a few years and then maybe NASA will let the 370 in Spec Z.

... found this video on You Tube that someone else had recorded from the Hyperdrive at Summit Point. I thought it was funny at about the 5:29 mark he blows by me after a point by. Was posted by getfast1 and I recall seeing a getfast on the NASA forums that is the Florida Regional director but not sure if they are one and the same. Anyway he was FAST.

sixpax 05-05-2012 11:13 AM

...and then here is my entire 26 minute experience, not that anyone will watch it. Just putting it here to make it a part of the journal thingie.

It took me forever to get around around that S2000 that started ahead of me.

...so I went to my first car show today, a smaller one to support a local high school's automotive tech program ... entered in the Import Tuner Category...

http://www.the370z.com/members/sixpa...cs1-custom.jpg

...I was stuck over in the truck area, and only saw one Honda Civic there that was sharp so wasn't too worried about winning anything...so basically just socialized and looked at all the other cars...our new Australian Shepard puppy was guarding the Z....

http://www.the370z.com/members/sixpa...cs2-custom.jpg

...and got second place...there was no third place given out so it was just my Z and that Civic in the import category...so I guess they had to give me second place

...the Fed Ex man brought my Z-1 25 Row Oil Cooler today...hope I can knock it out next weekend, but not in any hurry as I have to figure out what I am doing with my brakes. But at least the cooler is here. I am doing the Stillen brake cooling kit for sure, but am kicking around some other cooling for the brakes in addition so no sense slapping the oil cooler in there until I know where everything is going.

I wasn't going to post anything about this on the forum ... but what the heck.

I decided to make the car "look" like a real race car ... mainly to carry a message. I don't think school kids or most adults for that matter, would really know the difference standing 15 feet away from the car. It's not a daily driver, and we will just take it to events and car shows and a few HPDE-1 deals a year. I get to do what I want with the car, and it is serving a purpose.

I doubt I will be posting as much as I have been to this journal thing, tho I will try. Most of the updates will be focused on our Facebook page and the actual web site, if that ever get's done. The sites are brand new, so nothing much there yet.

...got my stock seats out and out some Corbeau VX-2000's swapped in. Removing all the stock belt stuff, and have 4 point harnesses coming Monday...harness bar should be here Tuesday. Also should be getting a handful of little 1/2 watt 4.7 ohm resistors so I can get my airbags to be functional again.

I didn't weigh the new seats, but I think I might have shedded about 40 pounds.

cool seats

370Z Purist 06-08-2012 06:36 PM

Corbeau's are hot seats. Guess it's proper that you sit in a hot seat, which is the hot seat.

Great build. Hopefully you will update your journal as much as your FB page.

+1 and a sub.
