Head is still foggy. Had more damage then originally thought. I had an old tear in the tendon that the surgeon had to cut out. Never knew I had torn it either.

Glad to see you able to post.

Thanks to Daelen. I got the rest of my parts. :tiphat: OS Giken diff, Giken gear lube, carrier bearings and seals, stub axle, and AN-8 hose fitting. Now I just have to heal up to do this work. And that will take awhile. :shakes head:

Jayhovah 08-14-2017 03:19 PM

I'll hold on to that diff for you in the mean time.

It will be there when you are ready. You know how long my suspension parts sat in the garage before I put them on. Long Time. You'll be back at it before you know it.

How long will your recovery be? Any chance you'll be able to attend the Z1 Nationals in October?

Recovery at least 12 weeks. :shakes head: Taking the insurance off of the Z tomorrow. Parking it for the winter basically. By the time I get healed. Snow should be flying.

That's a serious downer. I hope you surprise your doctors and heal much faster!

As crappy as that sounds, it is probably for the best. I hope you recover well over the winter and hit the roads hard and fast this coming spring/summer.

For you guys, it'll be a blind of an eye. For me, it's going to be misery because of not being able to do stuff. And I'm not the kind to sit down and do nothing. I'm taking some time off. :icon17: We're heading for Denver on the 17th. Going to see the grandkids.

I might be. But not my rifles. I was starting load development for 2 of my deer rifles. Trying new bullets.

Rutsy, what mod did you do for the lower engine cover to the 3 little plastic pop rivets that always pop out and go missing. I just did an oil change today and all 3 of mine were missing. First time this has ever happened.

Rusty 08-27-2017 10:10 PM

Here's my thread on fixing the problem. PM me your address, and I will send you 4 rivet-nuts. I have a couple extra. ;)

So this is new story about how you jacked your arm up....You hit the wall in your race car and you forgot to let go of the steering wheel. I like that better than I pickup some stuff that was to heavy for ya!

Got bored doing nothing while I'm healing. So I decided without the wife's permission to work on the Nismo. (Got caught red handed) Try working with one hand most of the time. :icon14:

Started working on installing the gauges. Installed the sending units for the oil pressure (1st pic), and the water temp (2nd & 3rd pic). And started to run the wiring back to the firewall. 4th pic is the wiring for the gauges hanging in the sun, off of the mirror on the motorhome. This is to help straighten out the wiring. As it was zipped tied up.

Hooked up the oil pressure and water temp gauges just to make sure they work before running my wiring inside the cabin. On start-up. The oil pressure gauge was pegged at 100 psi (1st pic). After a couple of seconds. The pressure started to drop. 2nd pic shows the oil pressure and water temp after the thermostat opened up. Oil pressure at 38, water temp at 175F at an idle. 3rd pic is how many Dots are showing for 175F. The Dots move more quickly because of where the sensor is, then the water temp gauge. The gauge starts to show temp after the thermostat opens. The 4th pic is my fuel pressure at an idle.
