Since you have that nice new camera, maybe next time you put your lip on you can shoot a quick video.

Got these babies in this weekend and installed them right away. These should really help when drifting because I noticed I was only using the inner edge of the tire. This will mean more tire will contact the road so hopefully more smoke as well. I also felt like the car was to easy to kick the rear out sometimes causing a spin. I will be going wider from 245's to 265's and will be running Kenda tires which everyone seems to love so cheers to more traction and tire life
I have less than a week till this next drift event and still haven't installed my tie rod spacers, gonna be last minute and I still have to get an alignment :/ Ordering tires today. Last edited by VDC_OFF; 03-18-2013 at 12:16 PM. |

March 24th at Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque Texas. Party starts at ten and goes on until sundown (or until you run out of tires). Competition between the most awesomenesses will be around 2pm. Bring whatever you need to camp out all day (canopy, chairs, ice chest, sunscreen, BBQ pit, girls etc.) there will also be a car show if you want to enter. Look for Fabricated Motorsports on Facebook if you want to see future events.

Its not hard to install. Just need 17 and 19 wrenches, a jack, jack stands and a torque wrench with sockets and a spring compressor. Air tools make it faster. If you dont have some of those, the money you would spend on installations could buy you some. Auto parts stores has the spring compressors and I got my torque wrench at sears for like $69. I would have half the stuff i have if I had to pay for installations.

Here is my package I received on Friday.
Got just 2 mounted on the rear. Tried to install the Powered by Max tie rod spacers but that was a fail, they didnt fit over the threads. Got the car aligned saturday morning. Sunday ate some breakfast for luck. Then had a blast drifting, even got to take some members on here for some rides. Had some understeer issues at first but all that changed when I switch my new tires from the rear to the front. Square setup FTW. Enjoy! Last edited by VDC_OFF; 03-28-2013 at 07:03 AM. |

Thanks guys. Some things I learned from watching this video is that after the big initiation i left off the gas a little which causes the car to straighten again. I need to keep my foot planted and commit instead of throttling up and down. This will make my drift be more smooth, more angle and more smoke. Also lowered the tire pressure for more grip but I think I lowered it too much effecting my smoke. Will need to raise it in the rears a little more.
Cant wait till the next event to get better! |
