I think I will have to go with the black beauty since the 280 needs some loving to be in top shape.

detailing fall 2012

So today since I have a couple of weeks before any more car shows I decided to do something about the orange peel I see in my factory paint. granted the car is shiney but I keep looking to get that perfect look. I started out by stripping all of the wax using dawn, followed by a clay bar. then I tried to polish using the 105 course cut.

It did really well for getting any scratches I had but the orange peel is still visiable so I decided to get more agressive with the problem.

so this is what I have ended up with as of now.

so now it the time to use the hexlogic orange cutting pads and the 105 on my cylo polisher to bring back the shine. hopefully it will work. stay tuned for more.

You didn't take a picture of the water you used to wetsand... haha

The cyclo is awesome! It will polish up your car with ease! I'm thinking about picking up one of the new Rupes. Not as cool as the Cyclo... But still cool.

Looking forward to seeing your results!

simota1 11-13-2012 02:27 PM

 i know that will work :D

I really like the dual action of the cyclo. it does quick work just a little hard for the tight spots.

Yeah, but you get a flex, PC, or Griots for the tight spots. The Cyclo will make quick work of the large areas (as you know). It's going to look awesome when you get it done

Mr&Mrs 11-27-2012 09:30 AM

Hey Kelly any updates on this? I might want to do it in the future.

kellyefields 11-27-2012 10:35 AM

I am taking my time to make sure I do everything right. I am waiting on some additional polishing pads to put the finishing touches on before I wax.

Mr&Mrs 11-27-2012 10:48 AM

Have you taken photos of the process? I was hoping to see each step.
