Been busy lately, but some minor updates to the car.
~Z1 Hood Struts ~Stoptech Pads ~Z1 Premium SS Lines ~Z1 15MM Spacers (Stud replacement) ~Motul RBF 600 Fluid ~Stillen J-hook Rotors Z1 hood struts went on quickly & easily, was able to do it without raising the car even though I am lowered. The use of the fiancee's small hands helped and turning the wheel. Over the holidays I did a brake overhaul, and wow has this changed the braking. I have yet to have the opportunity to truly test this since the install, but hopefully soon with some cruises coming up here. Ignore the dirty wheels, the car had sat for a week when I took the picture. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-5...030E3E0E21.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-f...1207B35D84.JPG |

Small update, the misses got me Polk DB6501 Component System for my birthday and installed. Even with running off the HU this is a solid upgrade over the factory system and glad I can listen to music with out pops & crackles.

Have some maintenance items to work on the next coming weeks, along with trying to redo some of my audio items. With the change to the speakers it is pushing me to make the audio area exactly the way I want.
I plan to reroute my iPod cable from the passenger cubby area to the center where the 3 fake buttons are. I found a setup done by .c2 on the forum and plan to replicate his idea. Link to the picture: Image -Idle issue (MAF cleaning, boost leak check) -Supercharger filter change -Supercharger fluid change -Custom iPod dock -Re-route iPod cable -HU dash kit replacement & adjustments |
Some more minor updates.
-Rerouted my iPod cable finally so I can keep my passenger cubby door closed, ran it to one of the blank center buttons for the time. Working on removing all the buttons (mine do nothing now) and making a custom iPhone dock so I can easily throw my phone in and connect. -Installing front & rear Z emblems -Installing test pipes -A dyno tune is scheduled for September 13 with Kozmic Motorsports, hoping this fixes all the "little" issues such as the idle problem Also picked up a Seibon TS hood and have started doing some data logging with my OEM hood and will repeat with the Seibon TS hood for comparison. Can follow that in this thread: http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...s-testing.html |
Things completed recently:
-TP installed -90% re-tune -Fixed almost all drive ability issues TP are on and back to my old full flowing exhaust sound, still a little drone around 2000-2500 but that is the price of performance. On my re-tune, the car is miles above what it was and Eric at Kozmic is doing a wonderful job. Ran into a couple minor issues when he was tuning WOT, but everything else was finished. -Fixed idle issue, this was due to the MAF & fuel tables needing to be set properly, was not done. -Fixed SRM bouncing when down shifting, SRM would ping 3,500 RPM and then drop down to 3,100 and bounce between the two. -Adjusted fan speeds, could have been more aggressive but will see how it works for now.

Finally got around to adding my hood which has been sitting around. Dropped it off, painted, and installed and it turned out great. Only issue is there is a leak on the passenger side that I need to have them fix since the hood installed, it is coming from behind the passenger glove box up high. Thinking maybe a grommet or rubber seal was left off by accident.
