Stopped by Baker, the car was fully lowered as low as it will go.
I will give it some more time to settle and see what happens, only at 250 miles on the coilovers.

I saw your car when I was leaving Baker yesterday. Looking sharp!

Thanks, just hope this noise is a minor issue since TEIN has a great reputation and I know others on here that do not have this issue.
We have thought about raising it just in case being all the way down might be causing the issue, but really like the ride height level. Not slammed but just a nice amount of gap.

Which Tein's did you go with again? I'm sure if it is Tein will replace them. Large enough company to back their product. Did you get the EDFC? I went with the Comfort Sports w/ EDFC for my Z33. I'm not one for slammed look or harsh ride. Figured with the EDFC I can play with the firmness for track days and soften it up for cruising/going out with my wife. Hope you get it fixed soon!

I got the TEIN Monoflex with EDFC, so glad I got the EDFC.
I can ride around on a setting I like and when someone gets in the car I can just hit a button (3 presets) and everyone is happy.

Plus if you want to have some fun you can set it to oversteer or when you want to just mosey around a nice natural setting.

And....the car is back at Baker.
Not sure what happened exactly but driving to my parents house and the rear made a loud bang as if metal was hitting metal and the rear end feels like there is no spring anymore. Back into my trusty Altima courtesy of Baker Nissan.

Wth?!?!

wstar 03-12-2012 12:36 PM

You should just buy the Altima and rent the Z on the rare weeks it's available to drive :)

If I were to buy anything else it would not be an Altima.

Robert, not sure what it is yet, should know more by tomorrow probably.

Man so many things going on with your Teins...wth? Mine are bouncy as hell, but can't say I've had those problems, and I'm almost slammed to the ground.

I have a fix for your problem. Attached is what you need.

theDreamer 03-13-2012 03:41 PM

Got the car back.
A couple bolts on the bottom needed to be 'tapered' I guess, not sure the exact terminology, but the one in there were moving slightly and one came loose enough causing the issue. It is all fixed and no more weird sound.

wstar 03-13-2012 04:35 PM

Now keep it on the road long enough that I have time to actually see it at some meetup. I don't think I've seen it once since the SC install :)
