He called me out, I let him go then dumped into second and drifted down Riley Fuzel, lol. He missed 3rd and couldn't catch up. I should have acted more my age but I hadn't driven my car in a few days :)

I just registered and read it ROFL! I wouldn't have raced but once I saw it was a slowstang I had to! ;)

I'm not going anywhere. I like this forum too much to leave even if I do get rid of the 40th. I'd honestly build the motor and enjoy the car if I hadn't dropped so much money into the car to only get more problems thrown at me. |

I'm guessing Nissan isn't replacing your motor? I hit 12.4 psi on Meth. My motor still pulls -13 (give or take) vacuum, no ticking! I'll probably do a compression check soon as well. |
Quicker Spool > Top End. Hell my car should be in the 550-575whp range on pump but boost should come quick! I honestly wanted to go 9.0:1 compression but didn't want to wait for custom pistons.

Changed my diff fluid yesterday. Car has 8k miles on it and I havn"t changed tranny or duff fluid yet. Lets just say the stock oil Nissan uses in their diffs looks like a chocolate milk shake. No bueno! My car running all AmsOil products now. Woot! Feels fantastic

I'd be iffy running anything other than Nissan's fluid for their Trans. Plus I've found for me 35DE w/ boost the Rotella-T to be best based on my BlackStone Lab reports.
|
I plan on running MT85 on my tranny. I had a bad synchro from 3rd to 4th on my 300ZX, changed fluid to MT90 and never had the problem again, smooth as butter.

Goin on seven years using amsoil in my VQs, etc.... No issues. Rotela and Amsoil have the same basic numbers breakdown.

AMSoil FTW! I use it too.
|
Ive heard good things about the Joe Gibbs racing oil as well! But family and friends have been using Amsoil in everything from dirtbikes to 18 wheelers with great results for a long time. Rotela/Motul are fantastic as well, im just an Amsoil fanboi!

I've been reading Synack's engine troubles(http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-w...se-engine.html) and I just wanted to let everyone know I've been using 10W-40 in my VQ's for years. I didn't want to post on his thread because Mod's were concerned about getting off topic. I sleep better using a little thicker oil, plus w/ all the blow-by issues w/ FI and apparently NA, it doesn't hurt. Also, Wstar layed out good habbits to have when starting your car, let it warm up for 10 minutes, don't get on the rev's till the car is properly warmed up, these small things will greatly increase the life of your motor.

Such a nice day today, took a friend for a ride in the Z. Still on the slippy clutch, waiting on parts and time. Car is running great, finally found an air filter that fits and flows great, it's attached directly to the turbo, air flow is fantastic, spooling quicker and obtaining higher boost levels. Made a little video, car sounds insane!

Hahaha I think my Motorola RAZR from 2004 recorded equal video quality.
But really though... that thing sounds so nasty! You're making me really miss my single turbo :( |

I've been trying to time doing the clutch w/ putting engine mounts in and redoing some boost and exhaust piping. However, since I'm still waiting on parts and the shop is over run w/ engine builds, Texas2K12 and drift event vehicles, etc... it looks like I'll be putting it off for a few more weeks. The car is fine but when I turn the boost up to 10psi she will start to slip. Sooooooo I've decided I am going to save a bit more cash and build the bottom end as well. Johnny sourced me CP Pistons and some eagle rods for $1350.00, I wanted to go w/ the carrillo but Johnny mentioned these are much lighter and just as strong as Carrillo's Pro-SA Rods. Probably do Cosworth headgaskett and ARP L19 studs. I will wait to see if the JUN cams or JWT Cam Gears will be the way to go concerning the head! Hopefully I'll have it wrapped up before ZdayZ in May. I want a reliable 600whp and be able to sleep well at night, which is why I'm building the motor. Although, I believe the VQ37VHR has a very stout bottom end. Trying to get all parts here before months end. Depending on what fuel pressure we are seeing, I mite be getting the CJM Twin Pump set-up as well. I'm already setup for a return system, just need to run lines. Also, adding 2 more small meth jets just after the intercooler/prior to MAFS, GTM said they saw a 40whp increase due to the ECU keeping desired timing(tricking it). |
Nice! Why twin pump instead of Aeromotive 340lph pump?
