So I was planning on picking up the 240 today, but due to one thing after the other going wrong this evening, it was an excerise of frustration. I plan on picking it up tomorrow morning pending everything going smoothly. I'll take some pics and get them posted up once i do pick it up.

I'll be keeping it until it gets sold. I gotta free up funds for my project and the Z is easily the biggest consumer of my money. I figure I'm spending close to $800-900 each month depending on how much gas I use.

Yes it adds up. 370z should open up lots of funds. How much you trying to get for it, if you don't mind me asking?

Looked at it some more and finally found the tag in the engine bay with the engine serial number during lunch. It's a "numbers matching" 240

Well finally started work on the 240 last night. Waited until dark so i didn't have to work in the heat, but that brings up issues of being able to see. Yesterday I pulled the rear plastic louvre off and was hoping to install a NIB Interpart LiftLouvre, but the mounting tabs on the old louvre have foiled me so far. I managed to get one off but that is it. Tonight, I pulled the spark plugs and put a bit of ATF in each cylinder, tomorrow I'll put in a little more. Then on Wednesday I hope to get the car turned over by hand (w/o plugs installed of course). If it turns over i will be putting some more ATF in them and let it sit some more. Assuming all goes well, I'll be able to turn it over on the starter by the weekend. I think I'll be pulling the carbs off tomorrow and start cleaning them up. I have a ways to go before getting it started, but I'm shooting for the middle of next month to have it starting and idling. Once that is done I need to address other things like the brakes and tires before driving it. Here are a few quick pics i grabbed at lunch and last night.

Got the carbs pulled off the car today. Here are a few pics from my cell phone, Camera battery was dead.
Good pic of what the plugs looked like when I pulled them Rebuild kits preserved in Miracle whip jars Carbs and plugs off the car All my extra parts for the rear carb And finally the exploded diagram of the crabs, I'm posting this full size so that if anyone ever needs to refer to it they can.

Haven't had much time to work on it lately but since the last update I have pulled the radiator. Then on monday during the 15-20 minutes i had to mess with it, I was able to turn the engine over by hand. Now I just need to get the fuel drained, run new fuel lines in the engine bay (the original rubber lines are dry rotted), new plugs, new battery, and fresh fluids. I'll probably also clean the points on the distributor as well. I'm considering going with the Braille B129. I feel pretty confident that the battery will have the cranking amps needed and once I'm done with building the car it will be more than capable of the electrical load placed on it. Probably won't see any updates for a couple weeks due to a family emergency, but once I'm back I hope to have it running pretty shortly after.
