you have the basic setup as the stock but larger diameter. I do not have a pic of the y pipe just yet but here is the mid pipe with the resonators there. The short tails were something that was fabbed up when I bought the car but I have already sold them.

^Cool, it's my S-Tune's mid section, just needed clarification as a lot of people say Nismo CBE and they think there is only one the "H" pipe that comes on the Nismo model car. I can see from the pic they are the S-Tune mid section and tips (fabbed up). Not a bad idea and would save me a bundle of $$. But then for resale, I could probably get more with leaving it a stock S-Tune CBE system versus chopping off the tail piece. And I could always sell the shorties separate.

So for the $$ on AAM shorties would be the route I am going to go. If AAM shorties connected to the stock exhaust sound as loud as the video clips I have seen/heard on utube, then these will sound VERY aggressive with the NISMO S-Tune. Thanks for clarifying and posting up the pic. Skeeterbop I am jealous!!

ZForce, I'll have another video up shortly that I took from the exterior. It will give you a very good idea of what it sounds like at various speeds and under hard acceleration. This is with a stock exhaust except the AAM Short tails obviously.

A few pics of my Stillen front splitter. I used slightly larger hex head self drilling screws and two 5/16 bolts to make sure it doesn't come off. I may add a third dead center as well.

Looks good, like it was meant to go with the lines and flow. It's not going anywhere with your mounting kit.

So i have o pose this question to others. For my next round of mods I'm contemplating one of two completely different options. The first option is to order the Craft Square side mirrors and a rearview camera, thus allowing me to remove the rearview mirror which annoys me to no end. (it sits dead center of my vision when i look to the passenger side of the window.)

My second option I have been considering is a lightweight flywheel and clutch combo. I'm trying to go as light as possible, because the inability of the engine to drop rpms quickly has started to get on my nerves. I've been considering a lw flywheel for a while and figure if I'm going to pull things out I might as well replace the clutch at the same time.

I know the decision is ultimately up to me, but what would you guys do?

I would go with the clutch and flywheel combo for sure. That slow RPM drop annoys me too

Nice video of shorties. Is there any loss of power? With the the loss of back pressure are you feeling the but dyno to loose out on the low end of the power band? Of course after you get over the sound of the pipe. I like the sound towards the end, but for the most part it sounded tame, maybe due to the position of the camera. I am pretty much sold on them.

I am not up on the rpm drops you guys are referring to, please explain. Are you running with the synchro rev turned off? Or do your models come without them? I have heard lighter fly wheels make for hard starts off a the stop light and they sound like a cement mixer truck. Something I have always been on the fence with.

I can't tell that there is any loss in power. I think somebody dyno'd it and said it got them about a gain of 3hp. I wouldn't worry too much about the loss of back pressure since the stock cats and resonators are still in place. So far everyone that has hear my car has nothing but good things to say about it.

The rpm drop I'm referring to is when you are trying to shift from 1st to 2nd and you have to wait on the rpms to drop (feels like forever to me) for a smooth shift. Imo, the flywheel/clutch combo holds onto too much momentum. I'm willing to trade a bit more effort and higher revs to get started for this benefit. Once you are used to the lighter combo, it isn't any harder to drive than stock minus a little more effort.

Thanks for the explanation. I am not sure on the trade off for the sound the car will make, I have heard once the lighter fly wheeel is installed and after a few months of driving they tire of the noise lighter fly wheels make and end up going with a heavier one to rid the noise. I did not pay much attention to first gear since it's a useless gear in the first place and I am out of it fast, sometimes I will just start out in second gear to just bypass first all together. But I know what you mean and I too have experinced the WAIT and what I do is roll the throttle, it's seems to me that there is a sweet spot on the rpm that with rolling it gets me thru the gear fast enough....imo. Be interested in how your set up works once you get them installed.

I was just using the 1-2 shift as an example, it is present in all shifts. I used to have an MR-2 that had a lw flywheel/clutch and I absolutely loved it. It helps with throttle response as well since the engine has to move less mass. It gives you a freer revving engine which allows for faster up and downshifts. It does have a bit of a trade off with increased chatter and more rpms needed to get off a standstill (less mass to keep the engine spinning) But it is something I'm willing to accept. For me the benefits outweigh the cons.
