I thought it would be fun. Picked up Berk Hi flow cats and Stillen Headers for a great deal. Should have them paid for and in hand by the first.

Berk HFC's sound awesome. In for the combo and sound clip. What are you going to do with your shorties?

Honestly I'm not sure. I have yet to decide if i want to install them or not. From what I've found the performance is negligible and it's a lot of work. Considering the price I'm paying for everything, I may end up throwing them on just because.

Unless you're FI.. headers aren't worth the work to put them in... not for just sixish HP... lol... been telling you this! The hfc... yeah, that's a good call though. You know I'll help ... it'll be my fourth set installed in two months! >=)

what i was thinking was finding out how much it would cost to get a true dual mid-pipe with the x over to replace the factory mid pipes. That should liven it up a bit as well.

I heard the shorties are for sound only and there is a loss of back pressure and that is why there is no gains in performance. I was going to pull the trigger but holding off, seems no one has posted dyno on them.

Well, in a dramatic turn of events, I have decided to try to sell my Z. I love the car, but want something to tinker with. IMO the Z is a fun car to mod, but a bit expensive for tinkering with. So I'm looking to get a 240Z in it's place and start messing around with it. Hopefully in a few years I can get myself another 370Z. I would like to thank Darionlear for planting the seed to do this LOL.

I too will be turning away from the Z side. I'm going to the darkside and going to get a 2013 GT500 after my summer move.

I will post pictures. The question is what do I get in it?

Base $54200
SVTPP $3495 (need tech advise)
SVTTP $2995 (need tech advise)
Glass Roof $1999 (I like/don't need)
Cover $375 (won't use)
Recaros $1595 (not sold on these)
Electronic pack $2340 (must have)
Heated seats $295 (can't get w/ recaros)
Shaker Sub $1295 (don't want)

I'm gonna try to keep the car less than $60k.

Looks to me like the SVTPP is required for the SVTTP?

Yes you can get only the SVTPP , but you want the SVTTP you must get the SVTPP.

So since I'm going to continue updating this thread with my 240Z progress, I figure I'll just list what I would like to do with it and cross items out as I go. The current prospect isn't running atm so that affects the list a little bit.
  1. Get Car running
  2. Replace all the bushings
  3. replace springs/struts if needed (upgrade to coilovers if possible)
  4. Rebello 2.7 engine (270hp crank)
  5. 5 speed from a 280Z
  6. LSD if I can find one
  7. Fresh paint

One thing I would love to do, but is 99% likely not to happen is to get a 6 speed straight cut, dog engagement, sequential trans from Quiafe Engineering. I know how much the transmission would cost, and could probably save the money over the course of a year, but the fabrication needed to adapt it to the L series block and trans mounts would probably be a bit more than i could do. Doesn't hurt to dream big though. What is on that list though is things I definitely plan on doing. The first two will happen pretty quickly and the built engine could get bumped up the list depending on the state of the current engine.
Sure hope i don't find a rust bucket when i take a look at it later this week.
