The side mounts and base will not make any discernible difference in weight. The seats are $1800 each as well, so another 10% to have it mounted properly isn't bad

The side mounts and base will not make any discernible difference in weight. The seats are $1800 each as well, so another 10% to have it mounted properly isn't bad IMO. That said some people do like to ditch the sliders for a more secure install in the event of a crash at the track (sliders are prone to fail in those situations) and that makes sense to me. The holes that are in the seats now you would have to use as they are because there is simply no good way to make another attachment point on the seat itself. But ya, you could totally modify the base or mount the side brackets directly to the floor, there is enough clearance for that.
