There are actually 3 sections: floor mount/base, sliders, side mounts and they bolt together in that order. You could get away with mounting the side brackets directly to the base

There are actually 3 sections: floor mount/base, sliders, side mounts and they bolt together in that order. You could get away with mounting the side brackets directly to the base I suppose however you'd need to make sure it was set at the perfect driving position for you as you would have no adjustment. You cannot bolt the seat directly from the bottom to the floor.
