Lee could use the old ones in the 280Z....

Well, I felt guilty that the Z wasn't getting any love for 2018 as it was all going to the R.
So, I've put some things in motion to remedy that! Stay tuned.. the wings of change are blowing. |
First of the updates for this season - Specialty Z clutch, flywheel and CSC are installed! Can’t wait to drive with this new setup, maybe I’ll actually be able to back up my driveway without it slipping lol.
Installed in my garage on jackstands, wasn’t too bad, people make a fuss about it on the threads here but overall not a tough job even on jackstands if you’ve got time to kill. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...650833572b.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...11cc283e87.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6ef15322e8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ad7c3c2616.jpg Also took the opportunity to refill the diff and transmission with some fresh Redline, bled the brakes, greased the shifter bearings and changed my rear sway bar setting from full stiff to full soft. Just have to change the oil now and check the filters then it’ll be on to phase 2.... |
New rear emblem installed to match some of the other parts that are in progress

Ok, let’s see what else we can update here!
On the interior side: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8ff6de64a.heic https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...941ba5373.heic https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0efc19cd21.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...430764baf.heic Had the A Pillars recovered in Alcantara and stitched to match the rest of the trim in the car that was redone. Also, since my Nismo CF shift knob was showing some pretty brutal wear, I switched to the Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi one. Amazing feel in the hand! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8f4ec261c.heic Performance: No photos, but I installed the latest generation RJM clutch pedal. I figured since I’d just done the new clutch and flywheel why not try to fix that brutal engagement of the stock pedal. So far I have been fairly impressed! Seems like it takes a while to get it dialled in to what’s ‘comfortable’, but once you do, money. Exterior: Yes, I’ve made some exterior changes to the car at last. I was torn for a long time, as I think the 370 looks incredible in stock form, and I always got lots of compliments on how clean it was just with wheels, tint and lowered. But, I’d had a vision for it for some time, and figured I may as well see how it turned out. First up, I got the AMS GT style full carbon hood from Fly 1 Motorsports. It was never my intent to leave it fully carbon, initially I was going to paint it to match and just leave the vents carbon. However it was suggested to me that I try Xpel Stealth on the hood to give it a dry CF look, with Xpel Ultimate over the vents. I love it, I think it turned out great! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...418464ccd.heic https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...286f30591.heic As you can see from the second photo, I also got the Fly 1 CF side blades. I got the slightly shorter versions that allow you to retain the front splash guards too. I like how they look, and they actually help keep some of the rocks from destroying the sides of the car with the front tires so wide. Next up, I got the EVO-R 3 piece front lip, with the center section in CF. I had the sides painted colour matched to the car. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2e64a1f59.heic https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...85ade09b3.heic Last two things, but not least. The Fly1 full carbon rear diffuser annnnnnd the Ings +1 Z Power GT Wing with low mounts. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ba42f75ad.heic https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...baf5a821e.heic After all that, I finished just in time to go to a car show and won best in show G/Z! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f1e20158e.jpeg Professional photoshoot coming soon! Way to go Ed! Let me know when you’re ready for some chrome powder coat on those wheels, give it some bling....

Looks awesome! I wish my paint still looked that mint.
