I ditched the harness issue and went with Adaptronic standalone ecu, they are plugging the wiring and we might try to tune it over the weekend if all goes well. |

Glad you decided on a stand alone it will be better in the long run I think. I love those new wheels mounted, so retro.

Not a good news, steering rack/AC compressor not working with a VQ, lack of space there, Z has been standing for a while last try at some workshop if works out then ok else might change the engine.

Slow progress but moving been busy for past few months, AC part is done but steering rack is still giving problem, shaft touching the turbo, if alternatives wont work them maybe remove the turbo to VQ30DE or even VQ35DE.
Will keep posted |

Car was left stranded for sometime now because of working on the hakosuka project which just finished
Lots of issues were there in steering and Ac compressor fixup so did fit some Suzuki compressor and we used the stock power steering pump with some machine work it manage to work nicely along with another additional bracket to hold the compressor, now single belt covering all. Coming to the steering rack used the stock (had to source another one) and with some combination of different u joints managed it nicely without touching anything. There is a rod holding bracket as well welded to the cross member, so far looks good without and with load Now another problem area, these all fits with turbo manifold removed, now still thinking of either using normal headers and remove the turbo or do some alteration in manifold and move turbo above the cross member, as block is NA and head from a turbo engine ported and polished there is a good chance it will run fine as NA, deciding in few coming days. |
