on a street car those scoops would have no functional purpose that I can think of... on a race car, they are used for rear diff cooling, driver cooling, and potentially rear brake cooling... on the car above, they cool the rear diff

Back on topic...
New sway bars just arrived from Whiteline! Very excited about these...of course they won't help at all for the standing mile, but they will for the road course! http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...line_sways.jpg |

Well, after all is said and done, I am not sure the Mojave Mile is going to happen for me next month. Not looking like my replacement tires will pull through in time and I don't have the cash at the moment to pony up for a brand new set of tires and the event. I am bummed, but there will be another one next spring. For now, focus shifts toward SEMA and possibly running the North American Festival of Speed Time Attack Invitational just for fun...again assuming I get some tires.

Looks like another start-up time attack series is hitting the western states. I am usually of the impression that for this type of motorsport to re-build and survive in the states we need just one organization that everyone turns to, but this one has a completely different rulebook that is more grassroots oriented. I stumbled across this link but haven't seen any official announcements from the new series. They do have their first event listed though. So far I think I might switch my focus for my 370Z build from N.A.S.A. TT to this ETA Street Class...

I think there will be more success if they keep it regionalized, and just start in one region. There just aren't that many teams that are interesting in putting down the cash to compete on a national level.
The blonde model is pretty hot. If they bring her to every event it will certainly help attract interest. |
The 370Z drew the short straw on classing though. 3.6L+ class.
|
Alright people, back to the front control arm discussion, I am just going to bite the bullet and get another set of SPC front camber arms. I still hate them, but I figure they are better (and cheaper) than ruining a set of good tires due to improper camber settings.
http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...mber-arms.html If anyone knows of a good cheap used set for sale let me know. I obviously want to spend as little money on these as possible haha. |
Going to be documenting what I like to call "The SEMA Scramble," the month before SEMA. Going to be getting my Project 370Z ready for the big show and posting weekly updates on the progress. Not going to be anything crazy, but hope to make it interesting for the readers!

I know what you mean, I got my first 'last minute' sema customer today! Every year I get two or three that need it done yesterday for Sema, but they had a whole year.

you going to be inside at a booth, or outside? This makes three cars with my calipers on them! Yours, a Camaro from Whiteside customs and a Camaro/Trans Am from Trans Am Depot.
Want me to coat your strut brace to match the calipers? |
Yeah going in the BC Racing booth in central hall. As for the strut brace send me a pm. :)

Today was a whirlwind for sure! New sponsors and new parts ordered means my SEMA to-do list keeps getting bigger but the weeks keep getting shorter.
