i just read your thread about your yellow Z crash and looked at the pics to compare to my accident last night. Mine is definitely totaled and i agree the Z is very safe. i only got a scratch from the seat belt and my shoulder and neck are sore from the impact

Oh man! I'm sure you may have a thread about the accident but if not....what happened? Good to know you are ok and didn't suffer any broken bones or injuries.

fairladyZ34 10-03-2010 09:49 AM

i didnt make a thread yet cuz i didnt get any pics from the accident. when i go tomorow to look at the car ill get some pics. and post the story. i still cant believe it happened because i havent see the car

daisuke149 10-03-2010 07:03 PM

yo Tony, you need to send me the details on that one item you wanted me to check for in Japan. I know some people coming to the US in OCt and NOV who could potentially bring it with em.

Z1804 10-03-2010 09:18 PM

Tony,
It was nice meeting you at Z Nationals bro. If you're ever in Atlanta again before the next Z Nationals, make sure you let me and Dai know. We could always meet in NC .

Cool deal! Not sure I'll be back down in GA before next year but you never know! I'll prob be doing ZCON since it's in Savannah next year, as well as Z Nationals again! If we can work something out in NC....that'll work, too! ;)

How 'bout some Cental 20 side skirts and a Varis CF hood before my P.O.S. hood falls off and I die? :shakes head:

simota1 10-03-2010 09:55 PM

I've taken several long trips over the past two weeks. Trips that I would normally not do. I'm generally a local driver....home to work and back and then maybe a little local driving during the weekend. However, I did the Z Nationals drive last week (1600 miles round trip) and today went to Ztoberfest in Richmond, VA (180 miles round trip).

In those two trips, my hood on the left side (passenger side if facing the car) has started to bow up really bad. It's also rubbed my strut tower bar in two places and also began to rub my Password:JDM cooling plate on the passenger side.

Today, when I arrived at Ztoberfest I got out and looked back at my car and there was such a huge gap on the side of the hood it was redonkulus! Then, when I raised the hood, someone noticed one of the locking mechanisms was loose! They luckily had the tools to tighten it so that issue has been fixed but m hood is so warped (and now it's getting cooler so there won't be much heat during the day to shape the hood back in place....which it did a few times back during the summer).

Lesson learned? Never purchase knock-off Chinese parts for a Japanese car, I guess. :icon14: I want a Varis CF hood......and now, it's not just a want.....it's leading to a need!

Jamaica 10-03-2010 10:07 PM

phelan 10-03-2010 10:21 PM

:icon17: Yeah, I know....it was just a wish I had there for a moment. Those side markers would be great if they can be found! I can post the link here if that would help. When are they heading to Japan?

I admit I did consider that one.....but $3200 for a hood.....yes, I'm insane but even I would post a comment about me being a fool for buying it. :bowrofl: So, I'll prob go with the cheapest one they have. That thing is still $1800 but at least I don't think it would lift up on one side. Plus, this time, I'll get hood pins, too.

I just wish the Bay Speed Aero hood didn't mess things up under my hood and then after a spirited 2000+ miles over two weekends bow out of place so bad. I'll get photos tomorrow of the hood......I'm pretty sure it will still be in the same condition it was this afternoon.

2theextreme 10-03-2010 10:29 PM

This is the hood I'm most likely going with:

Varis - Cooling Bonnet, Carbon - 370ZTUNE.com

christian370z 10-04-2010 10:31 PM

The only thing I don't really feel are the JDM tail lights if I am honest, but the rest of the car is stunningly gorgeous! I really like the hood as well, it is a shame you had fitment issues.

I finally sorta fixed it......when I got home tonight I noticed the hood was still out of shape. Well, I was so irritated I did something I know I shouldn't have.....I literally SAT on the edge of my hood. And guess what? I heard that all familar "click" of the hood finally latching. Thank goodness! :icon14:

Oh so soon.......the Mine's parts go on! Hopefully in time for the Williamsburg Cars & Coffee event next weekend!

What was waiting for me in the hallway this afternoon.......the box! :yum:

Mine's Rear CF Add-on......being added to my current CF rear spoiler.......yeah, the carbon threads aren't the same but that just adds to the uniqueness of this:

Oh, I will have no choice but to raise my car. But I have a feeling with the lip, it all might still look lowered. Plus, I think I need KW Variant III instead of my current BR coilovers.

Boost_lee 10-08-2010 09:12 PM

Damn tony, that's gonna look great.

I wish I could get a mine's add on spoler in frp...

Thanks! Oddly enough.....at first I was more excited about the front lip but then I got this crazy idea....why not try to add the CF add-on to my CF spoiler.....:yum:! I can't wait to see the finished look.
