Honestly, your oil would be much cooler just by being teamed up witha nice set of rims.

New modding focus

So, before Zdayz, I will have my oil cooler installed, along with fresh filters on my CAI's. After Zdayz and some tracking, my modding will be focused on performance, and almost all of it is non-power related. The biggest outstanding item I want to upgrade is my wheels. I want a second set, so that I can put wider summer rubber on fatter wheels and get all-season tires for my current base 18's. I'm thinking of staying with 18" rims for the new ones, but most likely 18X10 or 18X10.5 in the back for more grip, and possibly wider in front.

Then after I play around on the track for a bit, I will think about coils or springs or a spoiler if necessary.

I've basically made the decision to take Chiana from conservative fun lady to a step closer to dirty track slut.

The only power upgrades I will think about are possibly exhaust and a tune, but I kinda like the quiet exhaust right now for street use.

I'm pretty much the same way with my future mods. Want to do an oil cooler + swap brake pads so I can start tracking it. Possibly some wider wheels as well. Don't think I will do BBK or diff though.

I take it you are now going to keep her? Glad it is all working out. Now we need to get Bobo, Shahid, yourself and I up to Summit Point this summer!

Summit Point, VIR, NJMP, one of those at least.

I'm still debating right now on whether or not to sell the car, but the oil cooler and the air filter swap is definitely happening, and I want to do at least one track day.

I might be able to go towards the end of summer, after I start my full time job.

Remember, its 50 bucks for a Hyperdrive (30 Mins. plus class). This will give you the first experience without having to drop $380.00 for two full days plus gas, food, lodging. You do have to have a membership with one of the track sponsor orgs like Trackdays or NASA. My NASA membership was $40 for a year.

Well, check wheels off the list. I just ordered 19" Forgestar F14's in silver. They should get here in about a week. :D

ZCarMan 03-09-2012 07:10 PM

Congrats Al! They'll look great on your Z!

shadoquad 03-17-2012 05:16 PM

Non Visual work done today.

MightyBobo and XwChriswX helped me install my Z1 25-row Setrab oil cooler (no thermostatic plate). And we replaced the air filters on my injen intakes while we had the front bumper off.

No, but the washer fluid reservoir had to be removed to run the new oil lines, and it exploded all over me and bobo :bowrofl:

I was like, "deja vu"

ZCarMan 03-17-2012 07:38 PM

Congrats.....on the new oil cooler installation.

Jon - do they give any instructor at all for him? I don't think it'd be wise to send someone out w/o an instructor, or at LEAST someone knowledgeable to ride along...

Wheels tomorrow... :excited: Stay tuned for pix this weekend!

Btw, I forgot - Jon said they do indeed provide an instructor, Al.

Sorry I didn't see you had posted. As Shado indicated, NASA does provide an instructor. Its mandatory for anyone who is a first timer or even an HPDE driver until they are signed off by and instructor. I agree, it would be insane to just let a person get on the track and go for it.

Yeah, I think I'm going to make the hike. I was tempted to go to either of the MD meets going on, but I haven't made the trek to FFX in a while, and I need to show off my new shoes. Plus, I can't make the FFX meet on 4/14, so I should come to this one.
