Yep, I do, although what I may have misunderstood was the price of the brembos. I forgot the price I looked at for the brembos included the calipers which, based on the rotors alone, is the vast majority of the price.
So, sounds like rotor-wise the DBAs might be more expensive than brembos, huh? |

Travis,
You asked about data acquisition experience. I have none with the products you mentioned but have used the Mychron Pista MXL. Nice system but it lacks GPS and requires a beacon.

Hey Travis, I've been looking around and reading through this thread like a car bible. Have you taken any video of your Z since the installation of everything? If so, where can I find it? I really want to hear it. I haven't gotten a Z yet, but I've been looking into all the performance parts and I'm going Stillen FTW. That's why I'm so interested in this thread.

Most of the install is being done next week, and I have a track weekend next weekend, so rreign I'll be in a better position to tell you how it is all adding up and maybe take some video then. When you go buy your new Nissan - tell them you want them to put an oil cooler in !

I have already tracked with the Hawk HP+ on the stock rotors and they worked great.

Ah, cool DDM (don't know your name ), and you had the oil cooler, so your track experience wasn't just 5 or 10 minutes, right? I was hoping the rotor scoring problem was due to the pad, and not the rotor (as is usually the case), so it sounds like that's confirmed!
Did you by any chance do any bedding-in with the Hawks? |

Really digging this build log.
I'm not trying to be a jerk - I'm just curious - considering a lot of the stuff you're buying and the cars intended purpose on the track, why didn't you just get a base 'vette with a Z51 package? It seems like then you'd have more horsepower and much less weight at a similar cost to what you're spending. Obviously I like the way the Z looks, along with the interior and some other things - but for a pure track car, it's tough to beat the 'vette for the money... |
