Good day at VIR yesterday, got into single digits... was hoping to better my time today, unfortunately battery was completely dead by this morning... Got the car jumped and tried to run but then when I hit the track, the fuel delivery was insufficient at idle or under acceleration. I'm assuming that the two are related and that the alternator doesn't have enough juice to run the walbro fuel pump with a dead battery - make sense to you guys? thanks

yeah, that is probably the problem, that or the alternator itself died.

I've only towed the one time, but it pulled great, plus I got 20mpg on the short trip to Road Atlanta. It does sag a bit more than I would like. Someone with more towing experience on the Porsche forum recommended tying the car down about a foot farther back. I'm going to try that next time and see how it works out. Might need new straps though, as I cut the front ones down. Going back to Road A on the 18th with Chin, and then towing it down to Daytona in April with FlatOut.
No regrets on it though, I love driving it. Feels like driving a sport sedan.

Sounds good... prob better to just shift the weight vs modding it with stiffer springs or whatever... the sag prob doesn't matter unless it is extreme and front end of trailer / rear of truck dives under braking
I may look into that RA CHIN event! NEVER MIND, sold out! on a Monday! lol Last edited by travisjb; 03-03-2013 at 05:09 PM. |

Signed up for:
Chin Motorsports track event at Road Atlanta: a TracQuest event. 2-Days: Saturday/Sunday on 05/04/2013. Meantime, taking the car into CIN Motorsports for some light work: - install CJ MS fuel starve kit - figure out why my SRM isn't working (SRM light on) - replace bracing on rear diff / chassis, and fix cross thread - move SC oil canister lower on car Others I will handle: - get HDPro2 camera working with Traqmate - fluids refresh and lab analysis on gear and engine oil Question - what are the best SIM racers that have Road Atlanta? It's in iRACING, pretty sure... others? |

Thinking about my next NASA TT... I like the new rules! http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/t...cation-sur.pdf
My car fits well in TT2... I could load weight ballast and go for TT3, but that would introduce a bunch of aero restrictions... I have to decide now between power and tire contact patch... here's the math - welcome any input! |

Tire tire tire!
A friend last year ran TTB in his 350Z and did a lot of comparison testing at Mid-Ohio. He ended up deciding tire was everything. Ran most (all?) of the season on stock suspension, NISMO diff, a splitter and wing, and as wide a set of A6s as he had points for. He did a lot of testing from 245s up to the expensive extra wide 275 A6. He said the TT director couldn't believe how fast he was with that few mods at Nationals. |
