Not sure how much those Laminova's are going for but you can pick up a C&R Cooler for under $500:

^thx for posting... the combined unit looks like a good idea for our car, cleans things up and saves space for whatever else...
laminova claim to fame is no pressure loss across the unit, which is nice to have on our cars given the relatively high oil flow rate... wonder how the C&R units are on that dimension? |

Heat rejection and pressure drop figures are in the bottom left corner of the dimensions pdf here:
http://www.crracing.com/wp-content/u...er_diagram.pdf In general L/L heat exchangers are more efficient and have lower pressure drop than a comparably sized A/L core. They claim that the L/L cores they build into the radiators have even lower pressure drops than the remote mount units. |

Helpful data thanks... maybe someone more technical than myself can come in here and explain the benefits of ~0 psi pressure drop vs ~2 psi pressure drop... does it really matter?
Also curious which setup among the three saves the most weight... seems like combined radiator/cooler design should be the most weight efficient |

^ I was just a hair short due to the lip on one of the pullies. I had to remove the pulley and carefull retighten the pulley bolt without stripping due to the slight pressure on it. Worked fine.

Good for you, unfortunately mine's just too far... I think that's why my car has been squeaking - belt was tight beyond the limit of the tensioner... 2 inches more should do it

Good day at VIR yesterday, got into single digits... was hoping to better my time today, unfortunately battery was completely dead by this morning... Got the car jumped and tried to run but then when I hit the track, the fuel delivery was insufficient at idle or under acceleration. I'm assuming that the two are related and that the alternator doesn't have enough juice to run the walbro fuel pump with a dead battery - make sense to you guys? thanks

yeah, that is probably the problem, that or the alternator itself died.

cayenne still working out for towing? any regrets or setup issues? is the rear sag okay/within comfortable limits? |

I've only towed the one time, but it pulled great, plus I got 20mpg on the short trip to Road Atlanta. It does sag a bit more than I would like. Someone with more towing experience on the Porsche forum recommended tying the car down about a foot farther back. I'm going to try that next time and see how it works out. Might need new straps though, as I cut the front ones down. Going back to Road A on the 18th with Chin, and then towing it down to Daytona in April with FlatOut.
No regrets on it though, I love driving it. Feels like driving a sport sedan.

Sounds good... prob better to just shift the weight vs modding it with stiffer springs or whatever... the sag prob doesn't matter unless it is extreme and front end of trailer / rear of truck dives under braking
