The car would work fine but it will almost certainly throw a code as it is a closed loop fuel system.
|
if you remove it , it Will throw a code .
I removed it when I had my custom exhaust made and the code quickly popped up. I deactivated the code with Uprev for a quick solution until I spend some time to get it working |
I'm not worried about CELs, but I am concerned about car going into limp mode with this kind of code...
FYI here are a few websites that provide reference on this topic... unfortunately, nothing on the 370z yet http://www.courtesyparts.com/370z-pa...8751_8754.html http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...1883927&page=4 http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/drag-r...ap-delete.html http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=740553 http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=60681 http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/obd_codes/P0455.html The general takeaway from all these forums seems to be that you can delete the system but have to find some way to then vent the gas tank, either through adding a valve to one of the delete lines and/or adding a vented gas fill cap... plus you need to disable an "EVAP" related codes in the ECU... does UPREV allow us to disable codes outright or only to reset them? Plan B is to relocate the evap system to the cabin trunk area... I think so long as the system is sealed there is no issue with volatile gases being emitted to the cabin |
Travis , What is done to my car is the Evap canister is gone and the venting hose is free to air ,
yes Uprev can reset or deactivate those code for good , I haven't run into any problem because of that , its been over 20 000kms now |
interesting... so you just removed the canister and left everything else as is, huh? appreciate the input!

I needed as much space that I could get for the custom exhaust but since I planned at that time to relocate the canister somewhere , I didn't bother with removing the hose and connector. |
We were able to keep it in the stock location but had to ditch the housing... I may just pull it later next time I pay a visit to my uprev tuner
So, here's the long sought after functional rear diffuser! these first three are early in the process but gives you an idea of the shape we went with http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/u...b/IMG_6423.jpg http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/u...b/IMG_6418.jpg http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/u...b/IMG_6425.jpg This is closer to the finished product... will be powder coated black at some point once I figure out if it is helping or not with downforce http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/u...magejpeg_2.jpg |
That thing is evil!
Can't wait to see what your thoughts are with it at speed.. |
That thing is serious business. I hope it works out!
|
I wonder where you are gonna put the exhaust ! hehe
The rear diffuser is similar to what I planned to make. |
one please! :hello:
|
Whoa man, now that's a diffuser there...I've been waiting to see a functional one on the Z. Can't wait to hear how it works for you.
|
Badass, travis! Hope it works well for you!
|
thanks, guys! the exhaust is still a single exhaust w/ burns stainless muffler coming off the stillen y-pipe, and it is now transverse mounted and poking out the right middle of fascia... should have some pics after the weekend
I think I also figured out how to pin/connect the rpm wire on my traqmate... red #110 wire on the ecm... should help to have that data when analyzing the different aero options on the car now |
looking forward to your results on the diffuser. The exhaust is something I wanna see.
