I've been in touch with a 350 racing team that has a fix for the fuel starvation issue. It's an in tank fix. They get down to a 1/2 gal of gas with no issues. Should be available in a few weeks. No pricing as of yet. No other details.

I'll let everyone know when I get more information.

that's great, Stan - would be good news to a lot of people... you said 350z, assuming they told you it will work in a 370z???

I had my first track day last week, and during a hairpin type turn, the gas would be inresponsive for about 1-2 secs when the car is now straightened out. Would this be the cause of fuel starvation? or the VDC as i am a noob and dont have the balls to run without it yet?

Yes it was a right turn. What i dont get is that it doesn't cut during the turn, but right after the turn when the front tires are now straight. Weird.

Regardless congrats on your progress, it was my first track day last week and i think i caught the bug lol. It led me to read all 67 pages of your journal in a week. Lots of motivation now. Great work!

I love to hear that! Congrats on a safe and fun first event

When you make a hard right turn the fuel system loses the ability to pick up fuel in the tank... it takes a moment for the fuel in the lines to empty into the motor, but eventually you will lose throttle response... happens the same way for everyone

Not really... I remember using it a few times when I first tracked the car out of curiosity... wanted to see how aggressively it would cut in... it wasn't as bad as some cars I've driven (corvette), but it definitely slowed me coming out of certain corners

Considering you are not in a position to be driving for lap times yet, I recommend you follow the directions of your club / instructors, which is probably to leave it on... there will be opportunities for you later to try running without it... autocross is a great, safe way to learn how to drive without VDC, for example

Travis, u are running with the Aeromotions R static wing right??? I'm really considering it, even with options like the remote controlled wing, but how would you describe its "plug and play" ability in the sense of how easy it is to install as well as remove?? On the track, I would really be using this, but how easy is it to switch out when going out on the road, when I don't really want a huge spoiler on the back??

Yes, R2 static. The mount is very stable and handles the load well. Installation requires patching the old holes and drilling new ones but other than that, not especially difficult. As for it being easy to remove, I haven't really thought about that, but I don't imagine it would be more than 10 mins R/R.

UPDATE ON FUEL STARVATION:

The fix for the fuel starvation is two Bosch pumps installed in the tank. No further details available on that as of yet. The gentleman I'm talking with is working with Nissan Motorsports who will along with himself be offering the kit as two options. You can either send in your tank and they will install the kit ( preferred ) or you can buy the kit and install it yourself. He is currently working on pricing with Nissan. Pricing will be the same whomever you buy it from. It will be about 2 more weeks before my kit is installed by them, I'm the guinea pig

Sorry I don't have more than that.
