Awesome work. Loving the build photos...
...still can't figure out why you started with a 370Z, let alone a brand new one, but hey...

Re why new... how many used 370Z's were available in Feb 2009? The cost of operation of this car is low as well... I can pick up a rear diff for about $1k... can't say that about a porsche!!! |

Well said Travis
Just a heads up; I took my car to Willow last Friday and had all kinds of issues. Hard starting, getting codes not getting codes, car wouldn't accelerate over 3500 rpm, would die while idling and all with a full tank of gas. Didn't even get on the track. We took it in to Fontana Nissan and it turns out that the crank shaft position sensor overheated and melted the sensor. I have a new one coming under warranty. I'll have them protect it with a heat shield of some kind. Anyway Travis, you guys might want to take a look see at yours and protect it with some kind of heat shield or tape. Fontana Nissan ROCKS! Great customer service z06stan |

The sensor is mostly plastic, it's going to take some creativity to shield it from the surrounding engine heat. Even so I've never heard of one melting before, pretty weird.

pics? location?
Do you have pictures of the sensor's location, or can you describe its location? To melt, it must be located externally, close to an exhaust component...

He said it was a poor design and he also said he was going to shield it for me. He's a great guy who loves what he does. I'm sure he'll help you out. |
