Great times. What tires where you on? T1 time can always be picked up time wise. Exit of T7 is the tricky one.

NT01 I'm pretty darn close to 100mph at turn 1. I think I have turn 7 down pretty well. Not accelerating enough and carrying enough speed through 10b, 11, and 12... but for good reason as you and anyone that's driven RA would know!

Nice times. I'm at 1:39-1:40 on NT01s

That's not how it works for anybody. Gotta have the right spring rates, sway bars, etc. to go along with the slicks to make them work properly. They obviously have the potential for a lot more grip but they will completely change the dynamics of a car that's set up for a harder tire. I drove a car setup for R-S3 street tires, threw some Hankook DOT slicks on it and only went a couple of tenths quicker. Made the car nearly un-driveable at speed. Springs were way too soft, sway bars were way too soft, we were hitting the bump stops, bump steer was much worse since the car was moving around a lot more, diff wasn't working as well since the sways were too soft, etc.

As I said, just relaying what some people at the Chin Road Atlanta event were saying about their own experiences and observed time differences at RA. My experience running slicks is only at two tracks, PIR and Chuckwalla. They were good for a couple seconds over my Hoosiers R6's at both of those, and the Hoosiers were good for a couple seconds over my NT01s. |

Nah, when I went to NT01s from Hoosiers, my friends told me to expect a 2 second loss, which is about right. The 1:36 was on Pirelli full race slick scrubs I got from Brian Kleeman, they were done after a day but had tons of grip! Hoosiers are about 1:38

Sad thing I know a couple guys that have done 1:33 on street tires in a 370Z.

that's pretty amazing. guess I'm not surprised - nasa tt records:
TT2 180 Daniel Sanzera C6 Corvette 1:32.68 9/15/2013 TT3 71 Mark Nunnally C6 Z06 1:30.65 9/15/2013 TTS 169 Danny Popp C5 Corvette Z06 1:27.29 12/4/2011 TTA 71 Mark Nunnally C5 Corvette Z06 1:31.10 12/4/2011 looks like lots of guys getting down into the low 30s and even high 20s... man, i've got some work to do! i only have about 25-30 laps at the track, so i could see getting back a few more seconds here and there, but not 9! damn. |

nah, i'm done screwing with that... i may pick up some by continuing to make the airflow more efficient over the intercooler - i think i'm getting some serious heat soak losses. third dyno run was 375whp for example... but otherwise, I think i need more time at RA and maybe experiment with different tires. new set of R6's on the way that are worth a couple seconds, I'm convinced. And if I get my darned SRM back that's gotta be worth a second for me given my otherwise ham-fisted approach to shifting / heel-toe

I've got probably 1000 laps there, at a minimum!
