Ooh. I would love to drive my 370 at 3055lbs. My 05 (DE) 350Z is 2860 and is so much more fun to drive than the 370 at 3480. Though

I'm not there yet on 3055 but agree this car begs for weight reduction. Any event, I'll be running the bigger tire scenario to get to TT2 and so min weight will be 3191 not 3055. I may have to ballast just a bit now that I have phunk's fuel starve kit and will be able to run 1/4 tank
Are you using single mass flywheel, sig? |

Nope. I'm mostly stock... getting the car ready for SpecZ. Expected to have it done by now but my cage builder has been really backed up with Miatas. :P Only clutch/flywheels I can run are the stock or NISMO.
This summer I ran better times in the 350 on street tires than I was running last year in the 370 on Hoosiers! Amazing what 600lbs does. ![]() |

Awesome weekend at Road Atlanta. First time there - that track is amazing fun but pretty treacherous. Not the kind of place to learn car control. There were ~90 that started the weekend and three cars left in pieces. Drivers seem to be fine, thankfully. Downhill section leading into turn 10a took one, another over-steered out of turn 5 I was told, and the last I think was near start finish (need to confirm).
My times were 1:40/1:41 all day long. Then I took a ride with a local and found some new lines and break points. Unfortunately only got one clean lap to end my day today with the faster line, but very happy with the time of 1:39.14. ![]() Way home... 70 miles short of home base, nice couple honked at me to let me know that I was missing a wheel. Oops, guess these things weren't made for going 85 through crappy Charlotte roads! ![]() BTW, figured out you can just strap the hub with missing wheel to the frame and limp home at 47mph... long drive |

Great times. What tires where you on? T1 time can always be picked up time wise. Exit of T7 is the tricky one.

NT01 I'm pretty darn close to 100mph at turn 1. I think I have turn 7 down pretty well. Not accelerating enough and carrying enough speed through 10b, 11, and 12... but for good reason as you and anyone that's driven RA would know!

Nice times. I'm at 1:39-1:40 on NT01s

That's not how it works for anybody. Gotta have the right spring rates, sway bars, etc. to go along with the slicks to make them work properly. They obviously have the potential for a lot more grip but they will completely change the dynamics of a car that's set up for a harder tire. I drove a car setup for R-S3 street tires, threw some Hankook DOT slicks on it and only went a couple of tenths quicker. Made the car nearly un-driveable at speed. Springs were way too soft, sway bars were way too soft, we were hitting the bump stops, bump steer was much worse since the car was moving around a lot more, diff wasn't working as well since the sways were too soft, etc.

As I said, just relaying what some people at the Chin Road Atlanta event were saying about their own experiences and observed time differences at RA. My experience running slicks is only at two tracks, PIR and Chuckwalla. They were good for a couple seconds over my Hoosiers R6's at both of those, and the Hoosiers were good for a couple seconds over my NT01s. |

Nah, when I went to NT01s from Hoosiers, my friends told me to expect a 2 second loss, which is about right. The 1:36 was on Pirelli full race slick scrubs I got from Brian Kleeman, they were done after a day but had tons of grip! Hoosiers are about 1:38

Sad thing I know a couple guys that have done 1:33 on street tires in a 370Z.
