He had a friend repaint the entire car, but he did not use enough metallic flakes. For the bumper, he had a more reputable shop perform the work, and the paint had a bit more metal flakes so it shows up lighter compared to rest of the body panels. As for engine work, the engine was replaced twice sourced from Nippon Motor. It only has a JWT ECU program, boost jets, and single pop charger.

Not quite perfect to our standards, but that's his baby... if it was my car, it would end up looking like yours, but with more LED work lol
haha still sounds like a fun car. I'll probably do some LED work inside. right now i just wanna take the tops off and

Oh almost forgot... not sure if I told you, but I handmade custom turn signal bulbs for my dad's car. The front bulbs are pretty old, but it still works very well. It uses 4 high power LEDs: 3 amber and 1 white. So as a dual filament bulb, the white LED is the parking light, and the amber is the turn signal. He has the new style tail lights, so I used a more modern triple Luxeon Rebel for each turn signal. It lights up nicely, but needs a solid state flasher module.

I really want to do something with his fog lights, but he doesn't need it anymore after installing the HID kit.

Just something to think about

That sounds pretty sweet. i may be interested in that actually. My first lighting concern is actually my headlights. I know i can go get HID,s but they are still kind of meh as far as lighting is concerned, and supposedly they interfere with the Selin Dual MAF translator. I'd love to have something as bright as the 370z headlights, and i can order the 1999 Jspec xenon headlights... if i want to spend 1700 dollars. Do you have any ideas/something you could potentially rig up?

I can't really help you with the HID part other than getting a good quality kit. The cheap ones tend to flicker. If it works well enough, you might be able to ditch the fog lights. If you decide to keep them, but want to use it for show, then a couple of high power LEDs will look very nice with it at night.

The simplest mod is your signal and parking light. The front signals are 1157 (dual filament) so you can set it up so the parking light is white and signal is amber. The parking bulbs are 194, so it can be easily swapped for an LED type. The rear turn signals are 1156. I actually make my own bulbs, so they plug right in. Also note with the LED bulbs you'll get the hyperblink, but there are work arounds for that.

I'm getting it painted after i bring the car back up to NY. It didn't cost me anything extra to have this bumper put on. My original bumper was torn by the shipper and was hanging down. The bumber had to come off anyway to do the intercoolers and intake and stuff (Well not really, but when doing a full build like this its a lot easier to take the bumper off to get to stuff) So yea, it was either take the original torn bumper off and put it back on, or put this one on. Same cost. I've got a new hatch up here so i'm going to get both painted at once rather than having 2 separate shops do it... so i should save some money there.

Car was dynotuned today. The motor only has 400 miles so it should pick up about 10-15hp after another thousand miles or so. Ambient temps were about 98*F, 93 octane tune. 0% correction factor on these charts.

Power vs TQ (high boost)

Blue line - Base Boost 9 psi
Red Line - Boost set at level 1 spiking to 14.5psi dropping to 12 psi
Green Line - Boost set at level 2 spiking to 18.9 psi dropping to 16 psi

Power vs Boost:

Power vs A/F

Torque Vs Boost:

I'm going to pick the car up tomorrow... or i guess today (friday) and drive it back to NY. Hopefully i'll beat the hurricane home to NY
