SCCA T2 race car
10 Attachment(s)
Hello from Texas.... Some guys have been asking to see some pictures of the 370z race car were currently campaining in SCCA. It runs in Touring 2 with the evo, sti, cts, camaro, soltice turbo, and 350z. Our first race in the car happened to be the Runoffs and we had many troubles through the week only to end up with a DNF. New season is about to start and feel very sorry for the poor souls that show up at the same track.... You can also follow the team (3 350z's and the 370z) on facebook under Zorro Racing. I will post up more pictures later of the build of the car and parts used.

***Thanks for the support from everyone*** I'll get more pictures up later on today if i can |
Have you done more testing with the car since the runoffs? How long have you run without oil temp problems? What oil cooler setup is that? Stillen Race or custom? Looks like it wouldn't be enough, but pics can be deceiving.
Following you on Facebook now and excited to see what you guys do with the platform! |
Yes; we have run a number of sessions with no oil cooler issues or temperature problems. But then again it is not August in Texas yet! The oil cooler is a Nissan Motorsports product specific for the 370Z. This unit has been tested at ATC in all conditions and kept the proper range of operating temperature. It's not just the size of the cooler but the lines, fittings and oil you use.
Also FYI, Up-REV in Austin, TX did the fabrication work on the exhaust and electronic tune of the car. Please do not ask HP/ TQ, but it was very impressive when completed. Racers need to keep some secrets! :) KW competition shocks and springs are approved and used with Nissan motorsports adjustable sway bars. Remember that this is a car that complies with all SCCA regulations for T2 so there may be other parts that could help, unless they are specified and approved they can not be used. February will be our first outing for this season at MSR-Houston, can not wait! |

2 Questions
1) What is the "normal operating temp range" for this car on the track? 2) What size lines are you running to that cooler? |

a few shots from the weekend...
|
Well after the first race of the season was impossible due to snow and ice in Dallas...we ran the next event at Texas World Speedway on the 2.9 configuration. Happy to say we had revenge on last years dissapointing Runoffs with a win on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday was the BF Goodrich "super National" so it was even sweeter. Car did well with only a few minor issues...no fuel starvation! Photo's will be added soon.
|
congrats! How did you fix the fuel problem?
