Hey Alex, nice PAS write-up.
I noticed you went with the Meisterschaft on the GTR.
I've been contemplating switching out the Stillen and fitting the Meisterschaft onto the Stillen mid pipes.
I'm not looking to get pulled over every time I cruise down Robson, I just find the Stillens a bit tame.
Was wondering if you have any thoughts on your experience with this exhaust?

VIP-STATUS 02-05-2011 03:45 AM

tell me about it! lol

But all i can say is this year,is going to be a happy year for a lot of pep's
better save up that $$ kids, there's going to be a lot of toys coming:tup:

Meisterschaft sounds great on the GTR. Hollow-y, sounds like a Ferrari on steroids. High pitched scream that can be heard from 10 blocks away.

But on the Z, I think it sounds horrible. With the N/A setup with no turbos to filter the noise, it sounds "untuned" and raspy. I love the racy rasp, but this is more of a ricey rasp with our 3.7L V6's. Just my opinion though.

Agreed, it is a very well engineered exhaust with great workmanship but it definitely sounds a bit too unrefined even if you are a fan of racy exhausts.

Thanks man, your opinion is what I was after.
I haven't heard it first hand, and the vids aren't always accurate.

djpathfinder 02-05-2011 03:53 PM

I remember I couple posts last summer from members having installed Meistershaft exhausts, and within 2-3 weeks later decided to sell them b/c they sounded unbearably annoying.

John@Z1 02-07-2011 09:05 AM

This should be good stuff.

Nitrouz 02-08-2011 02:54 PM

Just bought the Stillen 25-row Race version oil cooler and I should have it by tomorrow. Any tips I should know with the installation that would ease the process?

Thanks for any tips guys.

djpathfinder 02-08-2011 04:02 PM

I have a DIY for a 19 row version installed on driver side so that airflow to power steering cooler is undisturbed.
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...tml#post595226

There are a couple other good threads to read including Modshack's too.

Zat_Zuma 02-08-2011 04:33 PM

Check out my garage pics

djpathfinder 02-08-2011 09:01 PM

This is also another useful thread discussing different ways to route the oil cooler lines. Check out Vipor's signature in one of the posts...I also like his install DIY.

Nitrouz 02-08-2011 09:14 PM

^thanks! I'm looking to have it on the driver side as well.

Repped!!

djpathfinder 02-08-2011 09:29 PM

Thanks buddy! Another two good reasons to have it on the driver's side are: 1) only half the amount of work to do the install b/c you don't have to mess with the PS cooler, and 2) looks like Sam at GTM places their oil cooler on the driver's side too for the SC and TT install, so you'll be prepared for your impending forced induction install. ;)

Was going to order an Ings GT wing...but thinking it'd be weird driving downtown in the city everyday like that...

hm.......what would an extended lip wing look like on a 370z.......like the M3 CSL's....?

;)

I was thinking of doing the same. It would look something like this but w/o the spoiler.

yeah I need a little "more" than that. That's like the Asuka hatch I had on my 350z.

christian370z 02-09-2011 04:51 PM

I have been liking the Fujimura trunk spoiler more and more as I am not 100% happy with the way the sport package spoiler looks and don't want to go larger than that either. I wish had the time and money to pursue a molded hatch lip/spoiler!

I think someone is making something like that! Let me try to find some pix's:p

This wing reminds me the older style Z. It was a popular piece back in the days.

SPOHN 02-10-2011 08:36 PM

My oil cooler will be here tomorrow. But will have to wait for my first oil change. Only have 700 miles on my car now. Not to much longer. Also have Gen 3 intakes coming. I'll do it all at once being the front clip has to come off.

I just like the CSL spoiler.

RCZ 02-15-2011 09:43 AM

Yeah, thats the only saving grace :(

Nitrouz 02-15-2011 05:52 PM

Just got my oil cooler installed. Curious...what do you guys use instead of the Fram filter? I've heard nothing but bad things about them, and want to replace them. Any suggestions?

djpathfinder 02-15-2011 06:19 PM

I use K&N 1008, but Josh recommends 1005 as a direct replacement to Fram PH3950 b/c it's a little larger. I've been using 1008 for 8000 km with no leaks. Your choice.

CrownR426 02-15-2011 06:42 PM

Don't mean to thread jack but that dark grey 370z with the ricer wing looks so retarded.
Rofl...
Anyway, Nitrouz I am liking the Z!

Never used Fram before... I've been using K&N, Purolator Pure 1, and OEM filter; never had any issues with any of those.

Better hope he doesn't read this or your Z is gonna get keyed! Lol.

Thanks! I just found the thread too and saw that.

Unfortunately I was too lazy and retarded and used the oem filter... And started the car up. Wasted a perfectly good oem filter and about a quart of esther oil... And a whole roll of shop towels. :(

Gonna swap to the k&n 1005 at my next oil change.

Zat_Zuma 02-16-2011 09:14 AM

I like Baldwin filters. Well built and reasonably cheap without the advertising hype.

FL 4Motion 02-16-2011 07:41 PM

Mobile 1 filters here.

Nitrouz 02-24-2011 09:51 PM

Finally got my Aerojacket!! Thanks Rick!

Goddamn the stock sideskirts are a pain in the a$$ to take off...

Still waiting on wheels and fenders...
