Dixon Cider's Roadster Build and Journal
Well, I have been wanting to upgrade this car, and after a few months of drooling over everybody else's modded Z, I decided to send mine over to Sam at GTM. It will be there for a few months, but I will list what we are going to do to the car. Also, I will list the base dyno runs that Sam did as well as some before pictures. Just to note, the dyno numbers are from memory, the only thing is the tenths are not exact. When Sam sends them to me, I will update the actual numbers, as well as pictures that he said he will take and send.
On the agenda for upgrade: UAM CF Vented Hood Painted to match GTM Stage 2 Supercharger Invidia 2.5" CBE GTM Intercooler w/ Thermal Black Coating GTM Intercooler Piping Powder Coated Black OS Giken Twin Plate Clutch/Flywheel GTM Oil Cooler GTM Oil Cooler Supplement Kit Custom made air deflector for the oil cooler Water/Meth Injection KW V3 Coilovers (1 inch drop) Hotchkis Sway Bars MR Works Headlight Mods (Blue shrouds, iron man) Blue LED total interior swap (DIY/Third Gear) Aftermarket "shorty" antenna Spoiler Solutions Aftermarket Spoiler Rear Camera Mod (Thx Jeff & bdl99) 20x9.5/11 Mesh Rims (undecided on brand yet) Powder Coated Calipers (Blue) SRP Racing Pedals New rear diffuser (want to get rid of the rear fog when one comes out) Rockin' the 370z decals (just for you AK) *GTM GT-R Intake *Anything else that comes along that I think I might want or anything suggested that looks/sounds cool. NOTE: *Haven't decided on what I'm doing with these items yet. Dyno runs from GTM (Base): HP 280.0 whp 283.x whp 285.x whp TQ 236.1 rwt 238.x rwt 240.x rwt When Sam emails me the actual numbers, I will get these corrected and post them up here. I got to test drive the Yellow Z at GTM on Monday. Man, I can't wait till I get mine back. The car was 380-390 rwhp, but wholly crap. It felt soooo good. Felt just like stock only a lot stronger. It was very drivable during "normal" driving behaviors. Power was available almost instantly when stepping on the accelerator. I will continue to update this post as things start happening. Thanks for looking!! Last edited by dixon cider; 08-06-2011 at 09:42 AM. |

Here is a picture Dean with the Targa Z sent me, I love the wheel. I think it would be REALLY cool to do Brushed Face, with black edges and windows. Hopefully you understand what I am saying, but this will pop and be classy at the same time.
PS: Just noticed what you wrote, and I was cracking up at the Ninja edit haha. I say ninja all the time, I dont feel alone anymore haha. |

I think I like the FS M20's better. Not enough "mesh". I also like my rims like I like the ladies. Big luscious lips!! Last edited by dixon cider; 11-18-2010 at 01:54 AM. |

LMAO, yeah, well its a bad pic, but that wheel has a 5" lip. Its all about the offset and size, but I can make it alllllll fantastic for you, just need the deposit and go head. I take too much pride in my imagination lol.
If you really wanted to get crazy, we could jump to concave, but I think for the money and the fact your going supercharged, we should stick with the lighter weight stuff. |

The GTM gig is costing me a lot, so the rims will have to wait until my tires need replacing (thinking spring/summer), so I will definitely keep in contact. You were actually referred by Jeffblue, so you were on my mind anyway for rims. You do have competition though, I also like the Venaci Step Lip mesh. That is a sexy rim too!!

That's quite the list! Save some for the rest of us!
Can you go into a little detail about the oil cooler setup? Is this a package Sam has put together specifically for the SC kit? |

He is running out of room in there though. So he is going to have to play with things to get them to work. |
