Been awhile since I've posted but some pretty significant updates and major issues.
First preparation for Global Time Attack at Ridge Motorsports Park (my home course) Finally got proper bucket seats and harnesses, Loved my Recaro Speeds but on track the slop between the lower and upper part of the seats was distracting. Also added the Coolerworx shifter. I always thought the factory shifter felt great and this shifter only added to that thought. http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...602-192826.jpg Next installed the entire ensemble (At least the rest of it) of SPL parts. http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...527-223312.jpg Also upped the spring rates at the same time to account for the aero. Do yourself a favor, remove all the arms and have a machine shop press in all of the bushings. It only ran me $200 and saved me a lot of headache. |
Best of Luck on the Global Time Attack. Remember "Wall Bad, Finish Line Good."

Finally was feeling comfortable enough to participate in Global Time Attack, best of all it was the first time GTA would be at my home track! Had some issues with tech but was eventually allowed out on track on the second session
http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...ark-racing.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...f4236-copy.jpg Unfortunately it was the first time the Z has left me completely stranded too. On my first session out just 4 laps in the motor blew at the end of the front straight doing 150+ (Code Brown anyone? :eekdance:)Some pictures of the carnage. http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...617-185304.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...620-175113.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...620-175119.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...620-153230.jpg Ended up finding 5 or 6 holes in the block after pulling it. I can't say I was disappointed or depressed about the engine, it took 5 years of 500+ WHP on a virgin block without a problem. My issue was I was on year old scrub 275 Nexen SUR4G (Excellent tire BTW) instead of the 295 Advan A052's I had waiting to go on the next day. I was holding out better weather on day 2 as it was raining every other session all of Saturday. I was able to manage beating my PB on that 4th lap with a 1:50.775 and was barely settling into the new suspension setup. The lap was Good enough for 4th at the time but after the weekend settled 6th. Good news is, GTA will be returning to Ridge Motorsports Park in 2021! |

Just a heads up, G series turbos only come in v-band turbine inlet non divided for whatever reason, you welding a different flange on? |

Pot to see if that helps with heat soaking issues. |

You can see where I moved the oil cooler in this pic, it's just the 30 row that came with the BP kit. Ducting will be your friend combatting temps! http://www.the370z.com/members/spec-...ark-racing.jpg |

Moving my oil cooler. Yeah I知 going to duct the front end of the car if my budget allows it. Do you recall your oil temps with the new relocation? |
What front bumper is that? Never mind, I found it. It is a Stillen. I thought that is what it was.

I actually have a new duct that has brake inlets that I need to throw in, fits between the intercooler and the ends of the main inlet. |

I'd like to think part of my engine temps being low is having the BP kit mid mounted (Aside from the aero/venting/relocation) it keeps the hot turbo outside of the engine bay for the most part. Factory manifolds with factory heat shields, Turbo manifold is jet hot coated and wrapped, turbine housing is coated and wrapped with a blanket also.
I'd say the Trackspec vents made the biggest difference though. Do you guys have hood vents? |

I found it to be worth about 10*. I think the Stillen front bumper does a good job too. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

I'm actually thinking the openings for the Stillen bumper are too large. I was planning on making the inlet smaller/making the air dam taller and creating partial block off plates for the side inlets ducting it to the intercooler/radiator kinda similar to what Pro Awesome did to their Evo in here. https://professionalawesome.com/how-...nd-race-ready/ |

How did it do?

Down somewhere in the neighborhood of 75-100 WHP cause I took a bunch of timing out for the sake of engine safety and still managed to set a new PB! Wound up getting 4th in Street Class behind Amir & his NSX, A local J32 swapped S2000 and the brand new M4. Time for a new transmission now though due to a nasty 5th gear grind. |
