I thought I was doing myself a favor and getting tires that would last longer (wife was upset about new tire purchases). Now they're sitting on my summer rims with under 100mi on them, and I'm thinking I'd rather have spent the extra $300 to have RE-11s.

Perhaps I'll sell them in a couple months and just get the RE-11s. They're just waiting out the winter in the garage anyway. Other choice is to flog them on the track and give everyone an in-depth review compared to the RE050As...I'm out there for fun, not lap times anyways.

Yeah, the V12s are fine if you're just going to street the car (they were perfectly good at ZDayZ for me last year) but I couldn't imagine really pushing them on the track.

The Pirelli P Zero summers on my Mustang will be shot by June, so I'm going to need something to replace them. I've run the V12s once and won't get them again... I need more performance. I think I'm going to give the Nitto NT05s a shot. Unfortunately for me the RE-11 doesn't come in a size that will fit my rim and stay within factory height spec. Too bad a 285 is too wide to run on a 9" rim.

^265, 305 does. According to Phunk, I think it was, you can run different ratios just fine...the VDC adapts to it.

I tried the NT05's and they are great tires, but they are super noisy and terrible in the rain. The noise does come down a bit over time, but they are as loud as the stock tires.

I am yet to find flaws on the RE-11. They are so stable and you think you can do anything because they have so much grip and then when you push them more, they have so much feel that you know exactly what they are doing under you.

My Vossens are on Pirelli P Zero Nero and, I know they aren't supposed to be max summer tires, but I feel like I'm riding on marshmallow smores. They are all over the place under braking and it seems like the car just wants to do its own thing mid corner. Hard to predict and let go so soon.

What series (height) are the P Zero's? Taller sidewall may be contributing if they are taller than your last set... You prob posted that somehwere just too lazy to go find it...

Did you check all the usual culprits on setup? ... E.g., What pressures are you running? Maybe add 2psi? Also can you adjust your comp/rebound on the V3s? perhaps take a few clicks of compression out then try adding a click or two of rebound??? what exactly is happening in mid-corner transitions / bump?

Oh don't worry man, the car is great when I change out the tires. The P Zero are NERO's which is their sorta sporty comfortable tire and its simply that it has deep tread and a soft sidewall so it tends to squirm and roll on itself a lot more than a performance tire. I really don't care how these tires handle, they are made to be quiet and comfortable and frankly I don't push them at all.

Nt05s are too pricey for their performance level IMO. They're also noisy as hell.

^ dunno about that. They are a good bit cheaper than something like a PS2 or an RE11, but they are pretty grippy tires in the dry. I thought they performed nicely for the price.

Yeah, I guess it also depends on the application. I didn't like them on my s2k at all.

Well, honestly, if they are not that great in the rain I'll probably pass. I don't mind running a tire in the same performance class as the OEM Pirelli P Zeros or the RE050s on the Z, since the car really won't see track use, at least this year.

I mean, they are usable in the rain, I just wouldn't push them to hard..they are great budget performance street tires.

Update: Swapped out fluids for all redline stuff. Car feels awesome, shifts feel smoother!

Also, sorry I have no pics, but I installed the Stillen front splitter and it looks great too. I thought I'd have to paint it, but it actually matches my satin black fangs quite nicely. Went completely overboard (Jnaut) on the mounting screws so that thing is not going anywhere. Did 110mph on the drive home and no problem.

I'll have pictures later in the week when I get the car washed...its filthy atm.
