RCZ,

Sorry to ask this question again, but how's the 8000 rpm redline holding up. Is the Z sounding healthy??? I'm doing a few things to prepare the engine for the high revs and for other performance. I'm buying GTM pistons, rods, and crankshaft. I have stronger valve springs and valves already. Darton sleeves are also on the way with the GTM parts. Then we all have our lightened flywheel and pulleys, which don't protect the car from high rpms, but makes it rev faster...I know all this seems a bit extreme, but I have other reasons than just the rpm to buy this stuff. Anything you would recommend in this aspect???

UMMMMM ok, wow haha. You have been kinda trying to keep it on the DL but that just knocked your plans wide open sir. valve springs and valves already? sleeves? pistons? rods? cs? damnit... haha. Not much else I can recommend sir.... it seems like you almost got yourself a built block already. I'm only wondering which pistons you got...eight fives?

As far as the 8k redline....I barely use it honestly. I have heard from a few folks that the easiest way to grenade this engine is with high revs (sans fi) so I try to keep it under 8. Even though I beat the crap out of my car, I don't redline it every time and I don't slam gears. I don't think its necessary... thats why my clutch is still perfect and the motor barely burns oil. I may not be the best person to ask if you are wondering how the engine is holding up to abuse.

I'm getting the Arias Piston kit from GTM, great lightweight set...

Yeah, I imagined you'd be surprised how over the top I'm going, but these specific engine tuning (i.e. crankshaft, pistons, sleeves, and rods) are not coming from my money...My cousin is a pretty crazy tuner and is helping me out, so I asked him if we could work together with some engine upgrades for the Z. He's pretty loaded with a great job, so he's giving me a lot of money to help (a little too much if I'm honest...never imagined to get pistons, sleeves, and a freakin $3000 crankshaft). BTW, I've had technosquare boost up the redline to 8000 rpm and I took it on a very short test drive...It wasn't just the power, but mostly the noise, I mean 8000 rpm + High flow cats + Altered Atmosphere exhaust = the most awesome sound out of the Z. Honestly, Altered atmosphere did a great job with this exhaust. It may not be as powerful as stillen, but man it makes the Z sound the best IMO....LOL, that whole explanation was LAME....I'll see how it all works out when I get the kit from GTM...I'm still thinking about saving weight in the engine bay. Those Darton sleeves are gonna add some weight, but the crankshaft is 4 pounds lighter than OEM....I saw GTSPEC's carbon strut bar for the 350z and it weighed 3 pounds. I'm freakin obsessed with this weight distribution stuff.... Sorry to give such a long post, but thanks for the help and good luck with the s/c. Can't wait to hear the Z scream and whine

Great list of parts there 370zForever, might I suggest beefer studs too. GTM has a nice list of parts for the person that wants a real custom performance car. I am guessing you are going to go forced induction at some point with the built engine and all. Im sure you are not doing all of this for the extra 600 rpms. For the note your car is going to sound like a monster after the rebuild.

Thanks man,

The studs sound like a great idea and my cousin was thinking about that...I don't want to make my cousin pay too much, but idk know why he refuses to accept that I don't want to drain his money...lol...and the car does sound like a beast already. As for FI, I'm really interested in superchargers and turbos for that matter. I'm favoring the supercharger for it's instant acceleration, less parts, and the fact that others like RCZ are getting one, so I will have a good idea of functionality. As I said before, I am a nut with weight distribution and FI will add weight, especially to the front, so i really don't know if or when I will go FI. YEAH and thanks for the info on the studs and the FI

Yeah I was pretty shocked. Thats pretty awesome though, it sounds like your have some sort of dream situation where someone else is paying for your fun haha. I would just go with it honestly...

Definitely keep me updated man, I'd be interested in running a spacial about your car on my blog If you would want to, start compiling pictures and whatever else you want into a word document. That way you won't have a million things to remember later on.

Yeah, me and my cousin practically lived together since we were little kids, so we're real close, but I do keep a low profile now due to some personal incidents with my old STI...That's why I don't give a lot of info or put up pictures of my work. It was a personal issue and ever since, I keep a very low profile, so the blog comment is not needed and I don't prefer it...Sorry to sound so mysterious, but I have reasons and sorry I haven't been helping u guys as much as u have been helping me...I didn't know much about the Z, especially after running an STI, which different in so many ways: four wheel drive, turbo engine, crazy technology, and four doors. Thanks guys a lot for helping and I don't know how to return the favor. Anyway, my main thing is that I do keep a low profile and would prefer you don't make it public. Sorryyyy.....
