Stock tires are on the smaller side for the rim to start off with.

I think you'd be ok for milder driving, but why risk it?

I've seen fools put a 225 on a 9.5" rim to get that stretched look. The tire didn't fall off but you have to look out for every curb and pothole around that wants to eat your rim.

Thats what I was told too. I've always had the opposite problem...so I'm not too sure about this one. I've read several times that it will be just fine and that, while not ideal, it will work without any issues. Then I hear how unprotected they are going to be and how doing two mount/dismounts adds a higher likelihood of scratching them. So I'm thinking I'm just going to wait and get RE-11's... It seems that my sports package wheels might be getting sold quickly...

Yeah Phelan, I definitely don't want to mess them up, they are definitely some of the coolest wheels I've seen.

What do you guys think?

They are sweet but it's really unfortunate who you had to buy them from. :icon17:

You also affect the integrity of the tire. Most of the time it is fine, but there is a much higher chance of catastrophic tire failure if the tire has been stretched.

RCZ, I think those rims will look sweet on your car. I'm excited for pics.

Exactly. I don't encourage it, although 245/40 isn't that stretched.

Agreed. No sense risking those rims though.:tiphat:

Yup, I've come to that conclusion. Looks like new RE-11's for me. 265/305

tranceformer 12-31-2010 11:23 AM

they're nice wheels but IMO you should get a different color, it's too similar color to your paint.

NewYorkJon34 12-31-2010 11:32 AM

Did you ever install that stillen lip?

I've had color matched wheels before and they look pretty good too. I'm sure its going to match quite nicely and it will look good. The little accents of red are going to break up the silver too.

You know, I haven't had time to install it. I think this morning was the first free morning I've had this month and I just felt like chilling at home.

Man, those AP's would sure look nice behind the Volks..
