Do you know how heavy the rotors from the AP kit are?

I weighed them at the time but can't find my notes right now so from memory the fronts were roughly 10 lbs lighter at around 20 lbs, the rears were almost the same maybe 1-2 lb lighter than stock.

Josh, would you consider an aluminum hat for the rear for those of us that only use the e-brake for parking? Or do the shoes drag enough to wear in every day driving?

Rear would be interchangeable, but would need a new rotor, hat and hardware. It would be full floating, and have a provision for the e-brake, but not recommended for use, obviously. Getting more info on it now.. |

Good question.. obviously we could machine it, just not sure of the quantities that allow it to make sense, and if there is any other caveats.. But I can definitely find out!
One thing that is unique with the kits we design with AP Racing components.. all of them (with the exception of a Lotus Elise kit) retain the factory parking brake.. |

The brakes are flat out amazing though, I love them. They dont squeek as much as when I first got them but I will get a diff pad when the mood strikes. Im sure you can spend more on a set of brakes but I dont think it gets much better than these AP's

haha I've already been sold on the kit, you guys all posting about how amazing they are does NOT help my situation of trying not to buy them right now! A few months down the line guys. I am going to hold off on doing anything else to the brakes to save some $ and so I can actually get the Stillen J-hooks on the track to test them out. I promised Josh I would get him some real feedback and that has not happened yet.

Yes, no problem in using the e-brake with these, as long as the rotors ARE NOT HOT.. say 30 minutes after tracking, cool to the touch, etc.
Also no go for drifting, etc. Here's a picture of the kit.. and if you hate the gold we can go black with the hat.. ![]() |

Need some advice
What does everyone think about running a 245/40/19 on a 9.5" wheel? It would be temporary until I get the right size. Should I do it or should I just wait and not mount anything until I have the right tires? I know it will fit...but mounting/dismounting is dangerous...etc. Anyone got experience? |
