GET OUT!! AHAhaha...I had no idea. No, I didn't take a look at your other thread.

Yeah, I took a look at some of their work last night and they do seem to do a nice job.

Damn, so how far do you live from Feasterville?

Yeah, they are pretty good. You won't be disappointed. I live approx. 100 miles away.

My First Road Trip

Okay.. Today was a VERY hot day and possibly one of the hottest day we will see this season in NorthEast (95 degrees). I took a 2.5 hours road trip today in my Z. I was very surprised to see how well the Z drove. The suspension is just right - not too harsh or soft. All aluminum lightweight suspension parts really makes quite a difference.

Despite the hot and humid temparature, my oil temp NEVER rose above 220 degrees. This includes WOT - in the acceleration lanes and from toll booths. I stopped at a rest stop to use the restroom about after 1 hour of driving. When I turned the ignition off, I didn't notice the 2nd fan kick in too cool the engine down meaning the car was running nice and cool.

I was getting at least 26+ MPG on the highway cruising from 75 - 80 MPH. As soon as I took my foot off a little (about 70 MPH), my MPG rose close to 28.6 MPG. Pretty impressive. Please note that gas mileage is LEAST of my worries since I DIDNOT buy this car for gas mileage. But I just posted in case someone wanted to know...

With this road trip, I'm assured that I won't be able to overheat this car (during normal driving whether on highway or roads). Not sure if my Redline oil helped keep the temp down or no, but I'm am happy. Now, if you're taking this car to a track, oil cooler is your ONLY friend ;)

Sorry you can't see the temp, but it's right below 220 degrees (about 215). I should have taken a pic instead of vid :shakes head:

P.S. Who changed the thread tag to "wally Martin Blue" LMAO...:icon17:

Cruising around the way you are on that same day in 6th I wouldnt surpass 185-190 temps (thats right when the thermostatic plate opens up), the oil cooler really does make a huge difference.

In fact during that rally event I went too I did not once pass 220 in temps...it was alot of highway, but definitly in the upper RPMs for a large portion of the time.

AK370Z 06-02-2009 04:37 PM

That's cool danny (literally!;)) I do not have a oil cooler installed (unless Nissan installed a hidden one) but I didn't cross 220 during my whole drive.

BTW, Just saw your exhaust video and it sounds great.

Hey do you still plan on installing an aftermarket built in nav system into your Z. Im very curious/excited to see how this looks in the 370. I have yet to see anyone in these forums that have done this and I believe I remember you mentioning that you wanted to do this.

I currently have a built in nav system installed on my 350, but once i purchase my 370 I want to get the base model so that i can transfer it over. I believe it will be a much cleaner look than actually buying the touring/nav package. Just my thoughts.

Yes! I'm even more excited to see how it will look. I ended up getting the DNX6140 with Sirius and back up cam. I will def show you pics once I get it installed.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "transfer it over" because it's going to be a HUGE pain in the butt to transfer your OEM 350Z nav to 370Z. I'm not even sure if it's possible! Aftermarket is the way to go if you're going to buy base. But if you are set on touring, then OEM nav is a bargain ($1600).

Yes, they do. I have to say, I underestimated these gauges and thought they won't look good. But I was dead wrong. One of the best gauges till date. I am still a bit upset for not getting a small digital speedometer on the left hand side.

And I have found a member that has already done it with the back up cam and it looks great! *see link
