Did you sell yours or have two Zs in the garage.

No problem. It's a good thing they got it loaded when they did. The sky opened up right after. Heavy rain and golf ball sized hail.

They had a Benz and a Bentley GTC on board and they were on their way to get two Lamborghini's and a wrecked Ferarri. Mr Z (guess its a him. Ive been calling it her all this time) will have some good company for the trip.

Mr&Mrs 08-13-2012 04:17 PM

Just ordered an HKS EVC-6 and set up a tentative install/tune for Wednesday and Thursday next week. I tried to order and HKS Camp II but I guess there are none left in the states (at least that the shop im using can get ahold of) and HKS stopped making them.

So im looking into this route. Has anyone seen this in person/have/know someone with?
Link : MiMod HP is a*Serious Performance Monitoring System for Racers and Tuners

Some feedback would be appreciated.

Dynos coming soon!

Can you PM me a website and parts list? So I can order what we need. I want to do the dual orb with projector mod, put some high quality L.E.Ds in the landing strip. I also need to find a match to the MBlue for the housing, and gloss black for the shrouds.

I think I saw a place that can do a rattle can with what ever color paint code you give them. I just cant seem to find it now. Or I can have my painter at Nissan take care of the paint and we can do the lighting. It might be best to call me sometime tomorrow lol

kellyefields 08-13-2012 07:37 PM

That is one hell of a sight seeing two Z's in the same garage. congrats

Dembflyr 08-13-2012 08:15 PM

I got the rattle can paint that I used from the link in this thread.

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...-blackout.html

It matched perfect but I messed up on the passenger side. Then it was made worse by trying to fix it. If you have any questions about what you see when you get them apart just let me know.

Thanks for the link! The headlight does not look bad at all only reason I noticed is because you told me about it and I looked real close lol. I may have some questions with the wiring, but im not changing anything other than the Iron Man, to Orbs so it should use the same leads.

Sent PM... Gave you all the details to order the parts. Will do it for trade of something, wont charge you. Don't want to piss anyone one off. Friend to Friend we can getter done...

Before getting resisters for the run way leds, read some threads one them, people had some trouble with the resisters burning out. I'll dig up my notes, but a wiz kids explained why there were issues and what he recommended. Trying to find that post..

Nut_N_Much 08-15-2012 07:16 PM

I found it, I had in in my build thread: 200 OHM 1 Watt he explains why below.

Quote:

Quote from Javier: Hi. I'm thinking of doing the same to my headlights but my numbers indicate that I should be using 200 OHM resistors at 1 watt. The LEDs are runnung at 26mA not the 20mA that they are designed for so the current draws .762 watts. Therefore you should us at least a 1 watt resistor not 1/4 or 1/2. My numbers are as follows: 12 v devided .060mA (3 leds in series) = 200 ohms. Please let me know what you think. I just do not want to be opening these headlights once a year. The way I see it the current is greater than the resistor can handle and they may burn up.

Hmm they already have the landing strip but one LED burnt out. I am basically a moron when it comes to wiring. I will text Dave and ask what he has installed unless he chimes in here first.

Last night and this morning I ordered all my paint supplies, dual halos, and the G35 lens's.

Thanks again for all the help guys!

Mr&Mrs 08-23-2012 04:42 PM

Well I scrubbed the Boost controller install and tune for now. I called GTM asked them some questions, they asked me some questions, and it was decided that this tune will be fine in Florida. I will put the 1200.00 towards painting my Zele kit when it finally gets here.

Also I took the Blue Z in for an oil change today and got a good look at all the underside while it was on the lift. Dave you done an amazing job installing the kit :tiphat: I have no clue how you could of done that with the motor in the car! I can tell just by looking I would of punched holes in walls, threw tools, cursed till I popped a vein etc. etc. lol

Dembflyr 08-25-2012 02:21 PM

Thanks for the compliment on the install. :tiphat:

Trust me. There was plenty of foul language and thrown tools during the install. Not to mention busted knuckles. But a good pair of mechanic gloves save a lot of them.

I'm glad that you are enjoying the car. I miss it terribly but I am very happy that I can follow your progress.

Have you beat her yet? She likes it rough. :D

simota1 08-25-2012 05:25 PM

I got on it a little, the AFR's got a little rich (10.5) yesterday when I got on it. Im thinking it done it because of how hot it was. Next time I get a chance to drive it I will take it out in the morning and see if they hug 11.3 like they were before.

My VR4 was also a complete PITA so much so that I will probably never work on this alone. I just do not have the time, if something goes wrong I will take it to a shop. With my limited free time it would take months to repair.

Heck I took the center console out of my SRT-4 months ago to replace shifter bushings and still have not put it back in lol

I don't remember ever seeing the AFR get to 10.5. Are you reading that from the gauge on the pillar?

Yep, and I have no idea what could of got it down in the 10's either. Maybe a boost leak? But it seems to be holding right at 7 PSI and I think I would hear anything major enough to drop it down that low.

Edit: The Vac side is also fine.

Mr&Mrs 08-29-2012 07:52 PM

Well had a chance to drive the car tonight and everything is normal with the AFR's. So I'm sticking with the thought of it being super heat soaked and nasty humid temperatures out causing it to happen.

bullitt5897 08-29-2012 08:59 PM

Did you ever paint the headlights?

Not yet I'm having trouble with the companies that sell the orbs. I guess my order never went through and now I can't get them to respond to my emails. I have all my paint, and G35 lenses.

P.S it's about time you get on my thread :p

Mr&Mrs 09-08-2012 09:35 PM

Just topped off the tank I only got 15 MPG  and I went easy on her.

Quick question does anyone know if Indiana has 93 octane? Because that's what I have been using.

Dembflyr 09-09-2012 05:48 AM

Sounds about right. But you are really having fun when you can get that number down to single digits. :D

The tune is for 93. Thats all I ever put in it since the TT kit was installed.

Mr&Mrs 09-09-2012 07:19 AM

Ok cool I was just wondering because I know some northern states do not have 93. I can see how you could probably make 8MPG a normal occurrence :driving:

I finally got all my parts for the headlights modding them will start on the 19th.

I don't know what's up with vendors on this forum lately but I can not even get quotes for parts I want to order.

Got an update from Mark over at Bulletproof on the Zele kit. He said it was shipping last week, so I would say 3 weeks or so I should have it in my hands.:excited: Also the coil overs came in im just going to wait and put them on when I have the car torn apart.

I hope to do another DIY like with the Amuse kit. Main focus being on the exhaust because it will not fit the rear bumper. With the knockoffs hitting the streets, and Mark informing me of 2 more legit kits being purchased I think it will be helpful.

Mr&Mrs 10-02-2012 03:26 PM

I guess I did not understand the email correctly. Parts actually shipped out today!
