What are the screens held on with?

Mr&Mrs 05-05-2011 04:09 PM

It has little metal tabs with what looks like resin gooped on one end to hold it on. Then you just fold them down through a hole in the mesh. I still need to cut those pieces down I was in a hurry when I put them in.

KaienZ34 05-05-2011 04:56 PM

Thanks for the info...rep to you my friend.

Mr&Mrs 05-19-2011 01:22 PM

Took the car down to the 1/4 mile track last week. Here are 2 of my 6 videos all times were so close no reason to post them all. I ran five 13.3xx and one 13.4xx caught me sleepin lol.

Here are my vids:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGrF0gz7xE8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mtweXzOMkU

Car is not tuned, 7AT, HFC's, GtHaus CBE, found out all my CF is heavier then stock parts, and so are my wheels. First time at the track I was hoping for a 13.5xx with all those variables, and ended up running 13.3xx's so I am pretty happy.

best run was a
13.34x 1/4
1.9xx 60'

Mr&Mrs 05-19-2011 01:26 PM

Thanks! Im glad I finally got this beast to the track had it over a year =\
I might take it again before I go FI but I do not really see a reason to. Forgot to mention also spare tire was in, my sub box and I weigh 215lbs.

I hit the drag strip as soon as they opened. I was trying to get a baseline for my future mods, but I think I overdid it :roflpuke2:

Mr&Mrs 05-19-2011 01:35 PM

Yea you may as well not even do anything with a 12.9 under your belt lol I ran a SS Blazer that beat me with a 12.9 he was a car and a half past me I felt so shamed lol

I'm still gonna try and see what I can do once I get some bolt ons, but that probably won't be for a while. I just have to wait for the right weather to come around.

Mr&Mrs 05-19-2011 01:43 PM

I waited to long it is hottt here already. Maybe come winter I will shed some weight off the car and run it one more time before I get the boost. Which I might be leaning towards the STG 2 kit from GTM now.

Yeah it was like 45-55 back in March when I ran, which is probably perfect temperature wise. I will probably go sometime in the summer just for fun since I won't have much to do.

Mr&Mrs 05-19-2011 01:48 PM

I was launching around 1200-1500 rpms and didnt really slide at all. I had decent 60's though so I didnt want to go any higher.

What did you launch at and what were your 60's?

I only ran like 4 times and tried different launch rpms each time. 1500 seemed to work best, but I think it also depends on the track prep. I launched at 1500 my first run (which was the 12.9) and got no wheel spin. Something after that run screwed up the track prep and I got some spin at the same rpm the second time.

KaienZ34 05-19-2011 02:29 PM

Nice vids....

Mr&Mrs 05-20-2011 07:03 PM

Dropped the car off to get the wing put on. Should be picking her up Sunday will have pics up that night I hope

b1adesofcha0s 05-20-2011 07:10 PM

Which wing are you getting?

Mr&Mrs 05-20-2011 08:01 PM

I have the CF Amuse wing just didn't have time to get it put on until now.

b1adesofcha0s 05-20-2011 08:22 PM

Nice

Mr&Mrs 05-22-2011 05:48 PM

Well went to pick up the car today and when I pulled up the wing was not even on yet. The guy had it since 1PM Friday! So I see a bunch of scratches and a couple chips he has the holes covered with what looks like duct tape, and I almost blew a gasket. The only reason I didnt was because my wifes parents were with us. I was hoping the wing would cover all of the bad areas but of course im never that lucky.

Now I have a butchered hatch that I have to take somewhere and get fixed because I tried saving a few hundred bucks.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

b1adesofcha0s 05-22-2011 05:57 PM

Sorry to hear. The shop better be paying to fix the damages.

Mr&Mrs 05-22-2011 06:01 PM

To bad it wasnt a shop, just a word of mouth guy. I seen things he was working on, and past things he has done and they look amazing. Maybe he got hit in the head with a lead pipe the day I dropped the car off and suffered brain damage. He said he would fix it at no cost but I do not want him to even see my car ever again.

KaienZ34 05-22-2011 06:15 PM

Man that totally sucks, that is one of the reasons i'm selling my CF Amuse kit.

Jamaica 05-22-2011 06:16 PM

kellyefields 05-22-2011 06:29 PM

Ouch! If it was me in your situation, I would ask him to pay for it to be repaired at an actual shop. You have no guarantee that he won't damage it even more trying to fix his mistakes the first time. I had a word of mouth guy install my spoiler too, but he worked in a shop so I didn't run into any issues. I was cautious about it too at first, but I was OK when I found it was at an actual shop. Did a great job and only cost me $80.

docaam 05-23-2011 01:27 AM

whats happening with our cars :shakes head: I left mine with one place and they broke my front bumper :icon14: now either need a full bumper wrap again which I dont have or remove the wrap off the whole car, plus need to repair the bumper both fiberglass and CF part

So will you have to paint the whole trunk or what now? hope it works out man

Yep I have to get the entire hatch blended now. At least I have a good paint guy so that im not worried about. Sorry to hear about your bumper. The guy also ripped my left rear quarter so I have to get that wrapped again also. I hope I have enough vinyl left because I gave the roll to my vinyl guy to use some on someone elses car.

Thanks kelly Im thinking about taking it today to get the hatch done properly since this short cut is already costing me more money. Might as well get it all shaved.
