Here you go buddy. Is this brighter that what you see when you turn them on? Raining now so I had to stop the soda blasting.

Seems to be brighter but the lens could reduce the effect some I guess. Are you still doing what we talked about on the phone? I wanted to leak the info in the thread about the first ever (as far as I know) dual __________.

If you use easy off oven cleaner (with the yellow top) to remove the chrome you won't have that problem.

He got a soda blaster to try out. If you use that oven cleaner do you then have to worry about getting all of that residue off as well? What is the best way to clean the clear lens on the inside same stuff? Or will it etch it?

Just spray it on keep it covered ,1 can is good for both lights I forget the time check the can I think it is about 20-30 minutes then just wash them off and they should be clear with a yellow haze then prep for paint no primer some adhesion promoter would be a good idea.

As far as the outer clear lens windex a clean rag ,compressed air to remove any lint and a flash light to look thru the plastic lens to ck how clear it is.

You can prime it if you want but it is not absolutely necessary ,the adhesion promoter is important b/c the easy off opens the pores and will expose raw plastic.

The factory base coat is a clear paint with blue tent and metallic fakes. You have to prim or it will show through to the plastic. Soda blaster is getting thought the thick clear coat i put on, don't want to use chemicals. If the shrouds get F'ed up I have to buy new light. Weird thing is its just that one light.

Should have them all stripped by Sat & ready for paint.

Will use the chemical on a fresh set of lights, good idea.. Thanks boss.

Relax brother everyone thinks what they know is best. Nothing wrong with that either. We are all proud of what we do, how we do it, and the path that got us there.

I think this is just a misunderstanding anyway. He is trying to remove all the old paint and there is a lot of it. He plans on trying your method on a new set of lights not some that have been done multiple times already like mine. We have been talking in PM's also he likes your method.

I have learned a lot from your posts Baer dont be stingy Also dont freak out if people disagree its human nature.

Holy crap, tell someone thank you and they are right and they **** all over you! Rob your translation was spot on, I had too much clear coat on these lights. I did use oven cleaner to get the clear coat off and soda blasted to get the primer and base off. They are almost ready, spent today sanding smooth. I need smooth out the dimples tomorrow and should have them painted by tomorrow night. Anyways here is an updated pic:

Baer if you want to talk 760-207-4684, I'm not an email/PM kinda guy any recommendations just call.
