Thanks, now if I can keep learning on editing when I have free time. No hurry on the suspension parts. If you do not have plans New Years Eve bring the wife out to my dads for a kick a** firework display. We have been doing shows for 15 years. Kelly has an open invite so he will probably show up too if he isnt working.

I have a question for you guys or any track junkies that follow my build. I figured I would post here before I make another thread. I done some searching but could not find any real good details. If I cant get an answer here I will make a thread.
Question is about fuel starvation. What is the consequence (or car behavior) from the fuel starve? I will give some detail on what I experienced today. I was accelerating up an on ramp to the interstate, was in 4th gear rolling onto the throttle and coming out of it planted. About 50 feet into the straight at 5k rpms it reacted like I hit rev limiter. Vitals looked great so after a mile or so I done a WOT in 4th again and it did not happen. Later I took another right turn but much shorter maybe a 80 degree 100-125 FT turn. Same thing as I came into the straight around 5k rpms it acted like I hit the rev limiter. I played around all the way home and it did not do it again. Only after these right turns. That said, I know a long sweeping right turn causes issues. What are the issues exactly (fuel cut car reaction)? Does it hit you while in the corner? Or in my instance's I was in and out of the corner quickly so the lag hit me as I was coming into the straight? I had a couple dots over a quarter of a tank of fuel remaining. Thanks for any input I will rep when it recharges I ran out for the day! |
Hey Robert, what i know about the fuel starvation is that it happens during hard, extended, or repeated right turns on our cars. So i asked if this was necesary for the street and the answer was get it for the track.
Suppose this normally happens when the tank is not full filled. I don't know if this can clear your issue but is all i know :/ http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...l-product.html |
Do you run with VDC on or off. I always kept it off. It is far too intrusive.
There were times when I would lose traction at higher speeds, mostly when it was cooler out, and accelerating hard. If you had it on it is possible that VDC kicked in. |
I turn VDC off before I even put my seatbelt on :icon17: Thanks for the link omz I know about that. I do not track and have never had this issue before. I filled her up the same day and will try these same two corners as close as I can to the day of the issue. Im curious to see what happens.
Another thought is maybe the clutch slipped...... Quote:

your going to have as much titanium as I have carbon fiber lol... On a side note, Ive always wanted titanium wheels :P
|
I got one of the limited SS sets. I do not think they make the Ti one anymore, even if they did im not sure I would spend 7k on an exhaust for a car that wont see much track time, if ever.

phunk posted this in response to my fuel starve question above.

Interesting! Looking forward to his detailed response.

For those waiting here is phunks response to my question. Im glad I didnt get stuck on the side of the road! no more heavy right turns for me unless my tank is full. Or I decide to buy his fix to this problem.

I've heard about the fuel starve issue but I never experienced it. That's why I was thinking VDC. Interesting.
|
I was cornering extremely hard in the "danger zone" of fuel level. I cant really talk speeds on the forum but I was topping out fourth coming out of the corners, you can do the math.....Im glad the fuel didnt get stuck on the left side of the tank and shut down on me!

Haha! Ya I will have to ask phunk about that. I cant do it anyway though because the car is to low for a jack! :shakes head:

Also, camber arms? Did you need them? |
Thank You!
