Thanks, now if I can keep learning on editing when I have free time. No hurry on the suspension parts. If you do not have plans New Years Eve bring the wife out to my dads for a kick a** firework display. We have been doing shows for 15 years. Kelly has an open invite so he will probably show up too if he isnt working.

Thanks again brother..:tiphat:

Im not sure if I can or not, and it is already on its way here. They put in an order for three sets and I picked one up. I will try it out with them in at first and if it is to quiet I will take them out. Will this bolt up to the down pipes Dave or did you put the 3" ones on? I forgot to look when I was under the car.

Im going to give it a shot with them in see how it sounds. As mentioned I think my set is already built and on its way here.

The Zele exhaust is so nice looking and really does finish off the rear bumper. It's worth asking if they can build one without resonators

That is on my list of "want" items but I do not need it lol. If Mark hits me with a price I can not beat maybe........you should by it then sell it to me when it cost to much to ship to you like the hood :p:rofl2:

Yes. The down pipes are 3". The 2.5" Berk bolted up no problem.

Mr&Mrs 01-08-2013 03:28 PM

I have a question for you guys or any track junkies that follow my build. I figured I would post here before I make another thread. I done some searching but could not find any real good details. If I cant get an answer here I will make a thread.

Question is about fuel starvation. What is the consequence (or car behavior) from the fuel starve? I will give some detail on what I experienced today.

I was accelerating up an on ramp to the interstate, was in 4th gear rolling onto the throttle and coming out of it planted. About 50 feet into the straight at 5k rpms it reacted like I hit rev limiter. Vitals looked great so after a mile or so I done a WOT in 4th again and it did not happen.

Later I took another right turn but much shorter maybe a 80 degree 100-125 FT turn. Same thing as I came into the straight around 5k rpms it acted like I hit the rev limiter. I played around all the way home and it did not do it again. Only after these right turns.

That said, I know a long sweeping right turn causes issues. What are the issues exactly (fuel cut car reaction)? Does it hit you while in the corner? Or in my instance's I was in and out of the corner quickly so the lag hit me as I was coming into the straight?

I had a couple dots over a quarter of a tank of fuel remaining.

Thanks for any input I will rep when it recharges I ran out for the day!

omm370z 01-08-2013 11:03 PM

Hey Robert, what i know about the fuel starvation is that it happens during hard, extended, or repeated right turns on our cars. So i asked if this was necesary for the street and the answer was get it for the track.

Suppose this normally happens when the tank is not full filled. I don't know if this can clear your issue but is all i know :/

Dembflyr 01-09-2013 06:16 AM

Do you run with VDC on or off. I always kept it off. It is far too intrusive.

There were times when I would lose traction at higher speeds, mostly when it was cooler out, and accelerating hard.

If you had it on it is possible that VDC kicked in.

Mr&Mrs 01-09-2013 03:54 PM

I turn VDC off before I even put my seatbelt on :icon17: Thanks for the link omz I know about that. I do not track and have never had this issue before. I filled her up the same day and will try these same two corners as close as I can to the day of the issue. Im curious to see what happens.

Another thought is maybe the clutch slipped......

Carbon_z 01-09-2013 04:09 PM

your going to have as much titanium as I have carbon fiber lol... On a side note, Ive always wanted titanium wheels :P

Mr&Mrs 01-10-2013 06:38 PM

I got one of the limited SS sets. I do not think they make the Ti one anymore, even if they did im not sure I would spend 7k on an exhaust for a car that wont see much track time, if ever.

phunk posted this in response to my fuel starve question above.

So that is exactly what it was, I thought so, but I needed to be sure.

GaleForce 01-11-2013 11:23 PM

Interesting! Looking forward to his detailed response.

Mr&Mrs 01-14-2013 05:14 AM

For those waiting here is phunks response to my question. Im glad I didnt get stuck on the side of the road! no more heavy right turns for me unless my tank is full. Or I decide to buy his fix to this problem.

The fuel level you were at was well into the fuel starvation risk area. Basically, once the gauge no longer reads topped off, you are at risk, and the risk increases the lower you go.

you often will not realize that you are in the middle of fuel starvation while in the right hand turn, and then you will encounter it as soon as you go to give it gas. it feels as if the gas peddle is not connected to anything because the trans is in gear, the engine is spinning, but it is not responding to giving it gas. at this point, the engine is only spinning because you are in gear, if you took it out of gear, the engine will die unless the fuel pump happens to grab some fuel as youre letting off.

when you make the hard or long right, the fuel sloshes over to the drivers side of the tank. If the turn was aggressive enough, you can get nearly all the fuel to go over there. so even though you have straightened out after the turn... most the fuel is over on the other side of the tank, and when you go to give it gas there is such a little amount that the pump cannot meet the engines needs.

it takes the system time to recover the fuel from over there. there is a little siphon that is powered by a venturi effect in the fuel leaving the fuel pressure regulator. it is constantly, and slowly, transferring fuel from the driver side to the passenger side where the pump resides. since it is required that the fuel pressure regulator be allowing fuel to bypass, if you are even low on fuel pressure, the siphon will die. this means you can actually transfer all the fuel to the other side, have the engine die, and there will be nothing you can do (short of adding more fuel into the tank) to get the fuel back to the passenger side. the car can actually be stuck on the side of the road until you bring it gas.

Dembflyr 01-14-2013 08:01 AM

I've heard about the fuel starve issue but I never experienced it. That's why I was thinking VDC. Interesting.

Mr&Mrs 01-14-2013 07:32 PM

I was cornering extremely hard in the "danger zone" of fuel level. I cant really talk speeds on the forum but I was topping out fourth coming out of the corners, you can do the math.....Im glad the fuel didnt get stuck on the left side of the tank and shut down on me!

If this does happen to you and you cannot get it started take out your jack and jack up the drivers side allowing the fuel to transfer back over to the other side. then away you go, at least in theory.

Haha! Ya I will have to ask phunk about that. I cant do it anyway though because the car is to low for a jack! :shakes head:

So, when are you ordering the Zele strut bar? Maybe we can do a group buy of two? :rofl2:

I think that z with the amuse kit is the sexiest 370 I've seen...

happytheman 01-22-2013 10:28 PM

Say, you may have mentioned it here and I just missed it, but what's your blue Z dropped with? Swift?

Also, camber arms? Did you need them?

Mr&Mrs 01-22-2013 10:34 PM

Thank You!

It is on BC BR coil overs. Rear Camber arms, no toe bolts, or front camber arms. Toe is in spec, rear camber is in spec, front camber is a little out.
