LunaZ's 370Z Journal
2009 Pearl White Touring with Sport Package with Persimmon Leather and Navigation.
It was pre-owned and only had 3800 miles on it. I picked it up for $33,700. I'm pretty pleased about it. It has everything I wanted, plus Navigation which wasn't necessary for me but fun now that I have it. I'm really happy about the iPod interface. http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...ril-3-2010.jpg |
On the third day, there was window tint by Mike Snyder at SSC Tint & Graphics in Elizabethtown, PA

After watching Formula One from the rainy Shanghai circuit in China this morning, I was inspired to install my rain light.

Looking good! :tiphat:

Added some StopTech drilled and slotted rotors.
I'm not tracking the car, so I got these for appearance, mostly. http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...ech-rotors.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...ech-rotors.jpg |
looks nice bro
|
wow quick good job =]
|
you can never go wrong with a white z. I love your car man. Nice rotors
|
did you have to change your pads when u got the rotors?
|
Nope.
I just did the bed in procedure to break in the rotors. |
A second coat of Liquid Glass and a DIY Nismo Engine Cover.
Props to simota1 http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...ps-simota1.jpg Two coats of Liquid Glass: http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...-detailing.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...-detailing.jpg |
Cobb Post-MAF Tubes and K&N drop-in filters.
Thanks to the guys at Forged. http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...op-filters.jpg |
What's the benefit of the Cobb tubing, besides aesthetics?
|
better flow from removing the corrugated stock pieces.

My butt dyno reports the Cobb tubes along with K&N filters delivers smoother throttle response and more pep at wide open throttle. The combination of these two parts makes for a sensible intake improvement for about $200. |
Installed 20mm H&R spacers in the rear.
Sprayed 'em low gloss black for a stealth installation. http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...appearance.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...mm-spacers.jpg Added this Nismo radiator cap for +18 HP gain. http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...-cap-18-hp.jpg |

At the Red Rabbit. You can tell the difference between the spaced rears and stock fronts. http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...red-rabbit.jpg |
Picked her up from the shop after throwing in the towel on some stubborn bolts on the front control arms that prevented me from completing my spring install. Here she is with a slightly lower stance on Swift springs and H&R spacers:
http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...adjustment.jpg Powdercoated calipers by Mike. I went with a factory tweaked look: http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...65-caliper.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/lunaz...64-caliper.jpg Not visible in the pictures are stainless steel brake lines and a fresh supply of ATE Super Blue brake fluid. |
I like the direction you are going with your mods. Nice clean simple changes. Keep it up!
|
Some scratches appeared on my strut brace during the spring install, so I decided to give it a coat of krinkle coat paint for a different look:

It has finally stopped raining here in Central PA, so I took the opportunity to give Stella a much needed bath. After a week of slick-tyre hooliganism in monsoon like conditions and a visit to the dealer for an oil change, fresh rubber, an alignment and state inspection, she was a filthy girl!
Cleaning your car properly always makes you aware of every nick and stone chip, so I know when a mark is new. I discovered this one today: http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315700951 I can only conclude that the technician working on my car was careless when getting in and out and caught his shoe on the doorsill. When I got to detailing the wheels, I found this: http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315700951  WTF?!?!?! I understand that some sort of tool might have been necessary to start removing the weights from the wheel before balancing, but what did this guy do, use a chisel to remove the adhesive? On the other wheels, there are some small nicks from where the old weights were removed and the adhesive was still there. I'm guessing the other three wheels got lucky because they didn't need new weights where the old ones were previously. It took me all of a minute on each wheel to remove the remaining adhesive with a towel and some Liquid Wrench. This is just not going to fly with me. Looks like I'm making a trip back to the dealer first thing Monday morning to bring these details to the service manager. Ugh! Here's some pics of the new rubber, Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's in 265/35-19 front and 285/35-19 rear. Lowered on Swift springs and running H&R spacers, 20mm rear and 15mm front, creates a perfectly aggressive stance without being toohellaflush. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315873728 http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315873728 http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1315874049 |
Last pic is perfect - looks great.
Good luck at the dealer - what a bunch of morons. |
stance looks good
|
Oh baby, love it. Those are the exact sizes I am looking at for the RE-11s and we have the same setup, they look fantastic.
|
Hi bro, can you take a picture of it by the sides? im interested in this setup and going to place order on these but i've got to see them first if you dont mind:tup:

Did the clutch helper spring swap.
I was skeptical at first, but hey... I'll try any $10 mod just for chits and giggles. My impression? Do it! This simple mod reduces the amount of force pushing the clutch pedal up from the floor which makes it much easier for me to operate and engage the clutch smoothly between shifts and especially when searching for the the friction point for perfect launches. I can only guess that Nissan must have thought that the extra stiff spring they put on the clutch would make the car feel more sporty. For me, it just made the car a little more tricky to drive. http://www.the370z.com/members/fairl...er-spring.jpeg |
Car is looking nice!

Got some Di-Noc bits today. Same guy that did my tint.

The Di-Noc looks great  Wish someone around here knew how to do that without messing the car up. I really want my B pillar's and rear valence done.
