I am sorry to say but this install looks very poorly done. You mention your wife's car is worse than this?

HTP is about to do my install this weekend. I'll post a bunch of pictures with the final results in my gallery.

Guys you are all mising the point here. He cut the paint... all the way around the car. If he had not free handed it it would still look poor. But I can see in the photos that he cut almost every panel he installed. Whats the point of protecting the paint if you have to cut it all up in the first place??? Hate to say it but this guy should not be in business. Installers like him hurt the industry as a whole.

Looking forward to your results. The wife's car is worse as in the pieces are installed about 1/2 to a full inch from the edges. Just where rocks like to strike!

Not sure if the pictures are misleading... he only cut into the paint where the bumper meets the hood (the shot I put three red arrows and a caption). No where else. Maybe these things are better left for in-person scrutiny. Oh well

i dont get the cutting into paint. I had almost hte entire front of the car done with perfect cuts....and i could take of the clear bra with absolutly no scratches, or "cuts" into the paint!

HTP AutoWorks 03-27-2010 08:45 PM

Yeah what he did was terrible. There should be no need to cut into the paint I can look at the rest of your photos and see irregular lines where he DID cut the film on the car... and cut your paint. I know you say he did it in that one area (which is way to dam much) but I can promise you hee did it elsewhere to. Thats a sign of a amature installer... or someone who doesnt give a **** about your car. I would demand to have it all removed and have him get the paint fixed... get your money back, and get it redone somewhere else by a real installer.

Holy crap man, that's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I just got a new Nissan 370Z, and I love the car, but for crying out loud, it's not a Bugatti, Lamborghini, or Ferrari. At most, it's a $40K car. If the paint gets damaged, get it fixed! I'm not a clear bra hater...in fact, I'm getting a clear bra installed on the front of my car tomorrow, but for the love of God, get some perspective.

its not the perfect install on his car but its definitely worth it. installing 3M 90% on to my car as we speak:-)

anybody know how long should we leave our cars in the garage after the clear bra installation is complete?

Zerafian 03-31-2010 01:34 PM

Front bumper and hood thats all that really needs something like that done. I can only imagine the cost of this, which has still not been stated. Iv had vinyl installed on my car and watched professional installers do it, the guys who did your install were careless as hell when it came to cutting it. They act as if youll never see the bra seams because its clear. Normally you wouldn't but with as sh*tty a job they did you don't have to photoshop red arrows in, the seams are obvious. Its like they were operating a jack hammer while cutting it.

I know a quality job, I stress quality, with front bumper and hood done can run around $800.

Good to hear you got the microfiber cloth with the price since you can buy a dozen for around $4.......

Chris_1 03-31-2010 01:46 PM

Just out of curiosity, but what does a job like this cost as I have seen just bumper jobs are around 3-400 sometimes. This seems very extensive, though the workmanship on this particular job doesnt look the best, still not an easy task.

ryanboy 04-01-2010 07:28 AM

i had to fight for the price but did 3M 80% of my car for $1500.00
