As Promised.....the old and the new
As promised, here they are!
Picked up the 40th anniversary edition this week and finally had a nice day and some time to take some pictures. The 240Z is a 1970 (one of the first 500 Z cars ever made) VIN # HLS3000387. Too many toys....but so much fun! http://sdb3641.smugmug.com/Other/Z/I...4_UWYnX-XL.jpg http://sdb3641.smugmug.com/Other/Z/I...6_ZWJv8-XL.jpg http://sdb3641.smugmug.com/Other/Z/I...6_bkJph-XL.jpg http://sdb3641.smugmug.com/Other/Z/I...0_9ayJd-XL.jpg http://sdb3641.smugmug.com/Other/Z/I...5_nKMVJ-XL.jpg |
I just got embarrassed! Your New Z and 240 look great :)
I would have opted for dropping the 240 and having the wheels polished, or polished centerline wheels with 8 1/2 in the front and 9 1/2 in the back... It still looks good, and it's running still, Your New 40th Z Looks stunning. I'd like to check it out in person so I've extended an invite too you to come out and join us if you'd like, and get together with other Z owners like yourself, we're pretty cool people. :hello: |
 Really love the two shot together. Thanks.

Beautiful cars, but why is this kid grabbing his crank?

First time I ever saw a 240 was in late 1972...instant romance! BTW, I got a 2004 Touring Coupe!
|
Nice pics!! Both Z's look great.
|
I'll be honest, when I first saw media coverage the 40th Ed., I wasn't too crazy about the wheel color but it looks really good in your set of pics. I like the exterior as well. It's slightly darker than PG. The red calipers are nice too.
Good job...congrats! |
congrats, very nice z's. do you have any enterior pics?
|
Sweeeeeet rides!!!! I really gotta see one of these 40th AE's in person - I'm betting they are just killer.
EDIT: removed my pics and will open my on thread at a later time - didn't want to invade sdb3641's personal gallery space. |
Thanks for the pics. Love that graphite exterior.
I would like to see the regular (non dark) sport package wheels on this. I think the contrast would make it look even better. |
Great Pics! I have my new desktop wallpaper!

I think you just sold me on the anniversary edition. I love dark grey cars... so glad they finally have that color. I've been Z'less for going on 2 years and I may have a large cash stream coming my way soon, hopefully to bring my love back.
Thanks for sharing. |
Very nice photos! Congratulations on the 40th edition and having the original Datsun 240Z. Those are the current bookends to some exciting history!
|
Yummy color. Will it be a magnet for swirls? Congrats on your new and old Z.
|
Wow! Very nice pair of Zs.
One from the first year and one from the 40th year (a 40th Anniversary too). How cool is that! |
Very nice man!
Those are some of the best photos of the 40th Ed. I've seen yet. It's hard to capture the Quartz Black color; in some lighting conditions the "purple" comes out too strong, in others (showroom) it looks silver. These look just right! |
Such a nice looking comparison! I love both of them! Good job on those photos and thanks for sharing!
|
Thanks for the comments everyone.
I love the color and I am so glad I waited (I was pretty tempted to buy an early 09!) |
That 240Z looks great! Love the 40th anniv 370Z too...as you can see. ;)
|
Nice pics......

Yes the 40th Anniversary color is HOT! I wish I had waited just for the exterior color.
I would love to see a Nismo in the 40th Anniversary Quartz. |
