My second stop will be to Forgestar wheels for some measurements to see if a 19x10 and 18x10 rim will fit up front, and also to double check 18" clearance over the sport package brakes.

I will get the car back to Vegas Monday night and starting Tuesday the thrashing will begin to prepare the car for the upcoming time attack! Here's the punch list for the next 2 weeks.

- New baseline dyno
- Install Berk Cat-Back Exhaust
- Dyno test Berk Cat-Back Exhaust
- Finally get around to making a mounting bracket kit for the Mishimoto Oil Cooler
- Re-Install Mishimoto Oil Cooler and change oil.
- Install Carbonetic 1.5 Way Carbon Limited Slip Differential
- Break in Carbonetic 1.5 Way Carbon Limited Slip Differential and change diff oil.
- Install Nismo 60mm Wheel Studs
- Get Nitto NT05 tires mounted on a second set of 19" Forgestar F14 wheels. 19x9/19x10 - Piano black w/neon stripe
- Re-Install Hawk HP+ brake pads
- Get cracked windshield replaced
- Re-check alignment and corner weights
- Wash/Wax
- Get "time attack" vinyl layout installed.
Have you had a chance to see if 19X10 will fit up front? Ideal sizing would be 19X10 up front with 19X11 out back IMO this would keep the factory stagger proportional...

I just went to Forgestar today and they measured and it looks like a 10" will fit up front!

The Invo's are a great street tire, very quiet. They are not a track tire though. I have not tried them on the track, nor do I plan to. The NT05 are a much better compromise between street & track.

What's the chance of rubbing when fully loaded at the track (especially if slightly lowered on coilovers), or is this more of a show setup?

So I take it the fitment over the calipers was ok?

To be honest I have no clue about rubbing at the track. The answer to that is just going to be figured out by trial and error hahaha. I think it should be fine though. Most of the extra inch will be added to the inside of the wheel, not the outside.

Fitment over the calipers was fine.

The NT05 is considered a maximum grip street tire that is trackable. It has solid wet performance but not as good in the wet as the Invo, but is better in the dry. The Invo would be quieter. I know lots of people that run the NT555 as a street tire as well.

A little trial and error is fine as long as I can correct it

So now I just need to decide if 11 or 12" is the way to go in the rear.

11" is the way to go in my opinion. 12" is too big for anything practical. Even if it fit you couldn't fit a wide enough tire up front to match how big you would have to go in the rear. There would be too much stagger IMO. I personally am going to go with a 275 front 285 rear which I think will be a great setup for the track on the 370Z. I simply don't think the car has enough power or speed to warrant a bigger tire setup than that. There is such a thing as having too much tire.

285 on an 11" rim?

Edit..

To bounce back over to this thread, I was looking at (now) 275/35R18 on 10" fronts and 315/30R18 on 11" rear, they're nearly identical in revs per mile. The 285's I saw (on the PS2's I'm looking at) are specced for 9.5-10.5 rims, 10 being the norm. Just seemed odd to me, I'm curious about the rationale behind 285 on the 11 rear.

Yeah, that sounds too small to me too... Hopefully won't look 'stretched'! Seems like anything from 295-305 would be ideal. Makes sense that 315 would just be adding weight for an NA 370z. Re 285, guessing Mike is going with what's available through his tire sponsor

BTW, here is the best deal I've been able to find on R888s! If anyone has seen better pricing, SPEAK UP !

Well part of why I liked the PS2 275/35 + 315/30 setup is the revs per mile come out at 815 and 817, which is nearly a perfect match in height/circumference. It's hard to find anything else remotely that close in rpm that matches up well with all the other factors. Even if the extra few mm of rubber weighs a little more, the whole setup is still 10% lighter than the stock 19+RE050A setup.
