2017 Nissan 370Z Nismo manual
Hello everyone. Let me introduce my 370Z Nismo "Clubsport" build. I own this car since 2018 and I am lucky first owner. I still use Zee while I can as daily, I even do long range euro trips with it, but on majority of weekends it’s under heavy track abuse. Initially I wasn’t planning modifications to such extend, but first few track events have verified how much has to be changed or improved – in short Zee didn’t match my pre-purchase expectations. Currently, after 3 years of improvements, I finally own the car I wanted from the beginning. It behaves very well at the track, but without any major sacrifices in steerability. AC is still there, no weight reduction, no roll cage. I want this car to be as universal as possible, not a track only vehicle. In 3 years period, I clocked in a Zee over 120k km and close to 100 different track events. Even though my car is under constant abuse, it's still extremely reliable and basically never fails (I only wasn’t able to strengthen gearbox synchros and they are the only thing I complain about). Beyond that, it’s just simple (but highly regular) service – love it. Modifications: 368 hp / 388 nm / 1550 kg (all fluids, half tank, no driver) - EcuTek tune (soft limiter delete, raised limiter to 7800 RPM, left foot braking enabled, termo limiter on engine oil, launch control etc.) Suspension: - KW V3 + DifTech uniball top mounts - SPL PRO complete set of adjustable arms - SPL PRO complete set of uniball & aluminium bushings - SPL PRO endlinks front & rear - SPL PRO Bumpsteer Adjustable Tie Rod Ends - Hotchkis sway bar front / stock nismo rear Drivetrain: - NISMO GT L.S.D. Pro 1.5 way - 4.08 Final Gear - ZSpeed CMAK - South Bend Billet Steel flywheel - Exedy clutch rebuild in kevlar - Z1 Motorsport poliuretan engine and gearbox mounts - Z1 Diff Cover - Bell Raceworks diff brace Mechanics: - Custom made Catback X-pipe exhaust with valves - Motordyne Artpipes - Custom made 3 inch air intake - Nissan Maxima 76mm TB's - Ported upper & lower intake manifold - Z1 Motorsport Fuel Anti-Starvation kit Brakes: - Continental Teves Race ABS - the ultimate ice mode solution (Mk60E1 with individual tune for exactly my set up. Speedo, rev match and everything fully implemented. Great modification - 100% faultless) - Stock Akebono - Carbone Lorraine RC6 brake pads - Two-piece custom made rotors with AP racing cooling pattern - Stainless steel brake lines - Z1 Motorsports brake master cylinder brace - Titanium inserts between calipers and brake pads Cooling: - CSF Radiator - Dual, 30 row oil cooler set up - Diff cooling (Setrab+Mocal) - Upgraded power steering cooler - Mishimoto thermostat 68 degrees - Oil-heat exchanger delete - Custom brake cooling - JWT oil pan spacer Custom made air guides to help cold air travel to oil coolers and radiators. They completely solved all my overheating issues - true game changer in thermal performance. Before them, dual oil coolers (& CSF rad) were still not enough for 20 min sessions without cooling laps. Driver feel improvements: - Coolerworx adjustable shortshifter - RJM Performance adjustable clutch pedal - MTEC shifter springs - Recaro driver seat lowered by 3.5 cm (thru simply cutting and welding) - Steering column extended by 3 cm towards the driver (no such adjustability in stock car) Rims: - 19 inch Rays OEM Nismo (all rears, squared 10.5) - 18 inch Rays 57DR (squared 10.5) External vids/compilations: Onboards: YouTube: nismozeta Last edited by StanPoland; 01-30-2023 at 09:28 AM. |

Welcome to the forum.
Nice build. I bet you will get questions on the Continental Teves Race ABS.

Considering Teves there is really not that much too say, except that it's as good as ABS gets. Not only it has significantly improved stopping power, lap times and allowed for better trail braking, but most importantly - ice mode and other ABS related bugs are gone. After second crash, because of stock ABS malfunction, i said no more and I invested in this. It was a very good decision. The more you mod your car and go out of its factory spec and the more aggressive you drive, than the abs will malfunction more frequently and that is gurateed 100%. Basically all of the modern cars have the same issue - doesn't matter if it's Porsche, BMW or Nissan. It's because of those so called "safety features", that might work on certain occasions on the street and on stock specification, but they were never intended to work on the racing track, especially on modified vehicle. What's all involved in installing that ABS? Plug and play or what?

I’m back after watching your videos. That’s how I’m sure a majority of us wish we could drive our Zs!! All out on a track and with other drivers doing the same!
And your custom exhaust looks and sounds amazing! Really a great Nismo Z!

Here is a video of the "easier" method, one without stock speedo implementation. But things get very difficult if you want no sacrifices. Whole operation took us almost 2 weeks. Basically you have to keep both of ABS units in the car - Teves for actual ABS work, and stock ABS (just a control module without a pump) for speedo, SRM etc., with all e41 connectors connected originally. In order to this, you have to duplicate all 4 slots to allocate set of speed sensors and that requires A LOT of fabrication. This is all because nissan ABS talks over canbus to ecu - no way around it Last edited by StanPoland; 12-03-2021 at 11:02 AM. |

That race ABS is bad ***! I really need to look into getting one.

Nice job and thanks for sharing! I am hoping to share my experience as well whenever I get my Z back. It has been an seven month and counting wait on my MK60 ABS system swap. I will have the addition on the Bosch Motorsports controller with my setup, so it will be fun to compare notes!

He really turned a 370z into a 911GT3. I admire this build for the no compromise approach on retaining streetability, among many other things. I don’t think I will ever stomach such budget and time spent, so I’ll settle to just live my dream through this thread haha.

Somehow even after some 12 yrs since launched, new parts continue to come out and challenge our souls’ discipline. Lol. Hard to say no to shiny things!

And......you blamed me for starting you on this path. Just think...If I didn't buy the home motor. I would be down the there with you. Either that or a 488 GT.
