drZ new fangs and roof

just had my fangs and roof painted....just wanted to share

and thanks to 180 customs for doing a great job!

also if anyone would be kind enough to give their opinion on how a flat black hood and trunk would look

thanks in advance

I wouldn't do the hood/trunk. I think the fangs, roof, and wheels are enough.

I don't think it would be bad, but the panel lines for the hood/a-pillars/fenders just wouldn't make it work.

I say leave it as is... it's easy to get carried away and then it will just look tacky.

why not just wrap it? you're gonna have to have it painted again if you sell your car or want to go back to stock later on.

actually its a different type of paint i don't want to sound stupid but i forgot what's it called its actually peels off without doing any damage to the original paint so im not worried about if i need to turn it back to stock if im selling the car :tiphat:

+1, that's exactly what it is... removable paint. ;)

1000x better than wrap or over lays, and pretty durable. I'm painting my entire CLS55 in flat white next month. :p

Looks good, but I agree on not to paint the hood or hatch.

How does the removeable paint hold up to rock chips?

drZ 01-23-2010 01:08 PM

so far no problems dont see cracks or chips anywhere also had a car wash after the paint and everything is fine :)

phelan 01-23-2010 01:26 PM

if you want to do the hood and hatch too, you'd have to paint the a pillars or it looks like a butterfly clip

370SteeZ 01-23-2010 07:56 PM

IMO the roof is all you should paint. I suggest maybe a carbon fiber hood, w/ cf side mirrors and cf pillars. Looks good though!

370SteeZ 01-23-2010 07:57 PM

How much did it cost you to paint the roof ? I was looking into painting my Z's roof a gloss black to make it look similar to my tinted windows.

370Z JT 01-23-2010 10:24 PM

what is the name of the removable paint? How is it removed? Can you make it glossy?

crazybeasty 03-16-2010 02:34 PM
