2019 370Z Heritage Edition

I've posted pics in other threads, but it seems appropriate for me to start a thread here and give a bit more detail how I got to the point of buying my Z car.

As much as I have adored the Z cars for years, I figured owning one of them was far out of my reach. I tend to have a lot of delusions of grandeur that never come close to manifesting.

The last 7 years, I was a 24/7 caregiver to my late Father. I gave up my career to do it, as well as my social life and...well let's just say I wasn't seeing much action from the opposite sex either. As my inheritance began to roll in, I debated spending a portion of it to do something for ME. Something enjoyable, even if frivolous, but something that might bring a bit of a smile to my face.

So, when I was contacted by a local Nissan dealer about a black 370Z they had in stock, I figured I'd just "take a look" at it. By the time I had a discussion with the salesman, the price to drive it off the lot was cheaper than buying a used one. I went to the bank, had them cut me a cashier's check for the full amount, and drove back to the dealership to start the paperwork to take ownership.

I don't have many miles on the car. I don't drive it very often. It's a situation with me that I have to be in the right mood to drive it, and have to be willing to put in the time after the drive to clean it up. I keep 'er clean, you know? I did take it on my road trip out to Wyoming and back (with a couple stops in Colorado *wink*), and it performed almost flawlessly.

Typically, I have very few kind things to say about my late Mother, but I am certainly glad she taught me how to drive a manual transmission, and not just move through gears, but to really DRIVE with a manual gearbox. All those lesson all those years ago have come in very handy in this car.

My tagline says that my Z is both my mistress and my therapist, and it's true. I can clear my head behind the wheel of this little car, but like going to therapy or having a side chick...it's something I tend to keep very hushed about.

Congratulations on your 2019 Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition very beautiful in black drive it and enjoy it! You should be proud of your purchase because you purchased a piece of Z history. Do you have any plans for your new Z?

I do, but nothing drastic. Probably a CBE to let her growl just a bit more under throttle, and I'm debating some sort of CAI to let her breathe a bit easier. Other than that, I'm not planning any major performance modifications. It's already more car than I can handle. :driving:

Lol... that's damn near verbatim what said when I first got mine. Two years later, so many mods than new mods interfere with the old mods.

I've got my financial cheese flapping in the breeze right now trying to finance my move to Bloomington, IL so I don't foresee being able to put much money into the car anytime soon. With the gas tax doubling on July 1st, I might not be able to afford to drive the Z very much, and upgrades would be a waste of money.

Teaching at ISU or Illinois Wesleyan? If you have a garage it may make sense to get some 55 gal drums, fill 'em up in Indiana, and then you can refuel in your garage.

ISU. Health Sciences department.

For some reason, the doubling of the gas tax has me thinking about Mad Max and the never-ending quest for sources of guzzoline.
